In this video I show how I use a clay clean up tool to get thick diff fluid into a diff.
This is one of the tools.

Short Videos are good for some things, I personally liked it because I am getting ready to change the dif fluid in my Erevo 2.0 as well. I was going to use the wax ear plugs BUT that 2mil fluid I just seen you use looks great 👍 I prefer it over the wax ear plugs. So your short video just made up my mind. Thank you!!!

Got my new e-revo and ran it for the first time today. Your e-revo videos really helped sell me on it and you are right it is a blast to drive. Short educational and tip videos like this are great but I think I speak for most here, we like the other fun vids and reviews too. I like to see how you are a bit more normal with your use and not extreme like many of the other channels. You use it the way I use it too. Extreme jumps and abuse are too expensive. :) If you are taking requests, I'd like to see some short track progress videos too. Maybe as you are working on it, you can explain how you are building, materials used and support structures etc.

Thanks. The track is kinda on hold. I need to figure out what I am going to do . The ground is just full of old wood and its layers of vines and weed. The non stop rain we have had makes it grow up faster than I can kill it. Even using poisons the plants grow up crazy fast. I am still working on it though.

@outsourcedrc
@outsourcedrc 2 жыл бұрын
I do it by feel. As long as it feels right, I leave it alone. The fluid does break down after awhile and needs replacing. I dont know exactly how long you should wait. I know a lot of people judge it by either once or twice a year or when ever they run through a set of tires.

Great video as always thnks Could you do a teaching video about locking the differentials on the bronco 2021? I ride mine now but not sure if I use the locking correctly! Thanks for any advice 👌
@V8chump
@V8chump 2 жыл бұрын
Locked diffs are for when 1 or more wheels aren’t on the ground, it makes it so the wheels contacting the ground spin instead of only the wheels that are off the ground. Unlocked diffs will spin whatever tire has the least resistance, locked diffs will spin all wheels regardless. I’d just use diff lock all the time when crawling, unless you wanna go fast and do tight turns I’d leave it locked

@Lord_Pistachio_Nut 2 жыл бұрын
@@V8chump well.....there's more to it than that....especially if you're comp crawling/tight trail running. Locked front/open rear can help with tighter turns (as can dig but that's another story) You're right on the most basic "I'm brand new to the hobby what's easiest" type thinking but open/lockable diffs is and always will be the best setup for crawling. Having permalocked diffs is such a handicap.
@V8chump
@V8chump 2 жыл бұрын
@Lord Pistachio Nut I’ve only really used open diffs for trailing, not so much crawling. Probably because the way the trx4 bronco comes setup you can only lock the rear diff independently, which is pretty useless so it’s either full lock crawling or no lock trailing until I switch them around so the front can lock independently

Really like this type of instructional video. But, also explain how this really thick fluid works. It looks to thick to allow the gears to turn.
@outsourcedrc
@outsourcedrc 2 жыл бұрын
Thats the point. The gears have a hard time turning. This lets you put the power down to the rear wheels. If the diff fluid is too thin, you lose all your power as soon as the front wheels leave the ground. I show this in the video where I change the diff fluid in my notorious.

Also the diff case gear and input gear mainly the rear and it only happens if i go big and when i hit i have the wheels spinning fast. When it hits the pressure to the input gear strips them.
