Just telling that greydwarfs do not spawn on floor placed by the player! The greydwarf on your video was spawning underneat the spawner where you forgot to put a floor, or on the ground on top of your floors., dirt was still on your floor. Otherwise, nice tactic to put 3 greydwarfs a little bit far away from the spawner to work properly!

placing wood floors around the spawner DOES still work, you just need to place wood flooring directly under the spawner, aswell as a 5 by 5 radius around the spawner.

Isn't it still just easier to dig a hole? All it takes is 4 swings with the pickaxe.

This worked, albeit had to trap around 30 enemies in 4 different pits in order to stop the spawning

Pits have to be near enough that the spawner can detect.

Just use fire.... no need to spend ages taming and escorting wolves to the location. Drop some hearths around the spawner and you're done.

8-2023 I recently saw a vid about this and the woman said the spawner will collapse if there is nothing beneath it. She says you must have some kind of flooring beneath it.

Nope, it will not collapse. Nothing has changed, it will still float.

Do you have any advice for getting a 2 star wolf to spawn? I know that they only spawn at night, but I have been trying to get one to spawn for the past 3 days (irl) yet I haven't even gotten a 1 star wolf to spawn. Do I need to be further into the game before starred wolves even have a chance of spawning?

I had the same experience. I don't think it's about getting further into the game or the number of days. I am already 500+ days in and it took me days to finally find a two-star wolf. It seems that the spawn rate has been reduced, not sure.

@@FingerPanic I wasn't able to find a single 2 star wolf, but after I started searching around a much bigger Mountain biome I finally started seeing tons of 1 star wolves (which I never even saw that before). Then as soon as I got a Wishbone I saw a 2-star wolf the first night! I don't know if any of that is correlated, but it worked for me.

The spawner will be destroyed and it's no longer a passive farm :)

As shown in the starting part of the video, I made them fall into a hole near the spawner. Spawners only spawns 3 Greydwarves. So if you can place 3 in a hole within the spawner's area, then you are free to dig without them attacking you.
