Bedros Keuilian

Күн бұрын

In today's episode of the Bedros Keuilian Show, I go into why this voice, the inner critic, is plaguing a large number of men, leading to a lack of confidence and a crippling level of self-doubt and dissatisfaction.
I struggled with my inner critic until my mid-30s and many of you might be wrestling with it now. For over a decade now I've learned how to muzzle my inner critic and turn up the volume on my inner advocate.
And surprisingly it wasn't age that helped me overcome my inner critic, but I want to share certain strategies I implemented in my life with you in this episode. So if you're ready to silence your self-doubt and unlock unstoppable confidence so that you can start stacking big wins, this episode is for you.

I’m 29. Was mainly focused on being a heavy lifting bodybuilder from 20-27. Stopped the gym but got into running around 28. The most i ever ran before the marathon challenge was 13 miles. I did the six week program you put up for FREE, and ran a marathon by myself at a park. My girlfriend followed me on a bike. It took me about 5 hours! I’m writing this to say the 26.2 program you put up works!! Getting back to it and going to compete for a 46.3 mile race come September

Hello B, and good morning , My Anaheim bro" yes I grew up in Anaheim also, tho a tad older as my HS class was of 76. Want to say I deeply appreciate the time you take" in your busy life and create the absolute truthful pod casts, Man, you say it right on the nail head in many areas, and you sir have deeply inspired me. I will be 67 in July, had a horrible year last year, but thats the past. Today I work FT, on my feet 8 hours a day M-F ,hit the gym 4-5 days a week with 45- cardio & 45 min weights & machines. I also a avid hiker and now close to my high school weight, ok +20. I'm also a landscape artist, and always push myself in doing more art time, as I listen to you on FB, and now on Saturday or Sunday will push more in connecting with art markets in Tennessee were I am planning to relocate to , soon and get away from hellish hot San Antonio, Thank you sir , for all your wisdom, Jimmy C

Thank you Bedros! A big confidence for me is I just finished your book Man Up. It is the second book I’ve ever readin my life. I’m in my 40s and have struggled with reading since I was a kid. I have started making reading apart of my daily routine. Man up is a great book and was perfectly timed for me and where I am in life. Thanks again.

Ran my Marathon last Wednesday, June 21st. I listened to this podcast on the 6th when it came out, and started training the next day. I will say I had been running about a mile before lifting about 3x a week, but the furthest I had ever run was 5-6 miles. I never have enjoyed it much but it's not so bad when you're actually in shape haha. Anyway, I signed up for a marathon and for the next two weeks I basically spent all my free time reading and researching proper form, diet and nutrition, hydration, and proper race fueling. Day 12 was the first 2 hour run (per Bedros' training schedule), and I knocked out a half marathon, to my surprise. Three days later was the 3-hour run, and I decided, feeding off my previous accomplishment, to go the distance. I finished in just under five hours, out on my own and nearly on a whim. No cheering, no support, no headphones, and at the end, incredible knee and foot pain to boot. With actual race day a month away, I think I might just switch to the half. Cheers Bedros

Man I feel you on the running thing. Finishing an event like that is just a crazy feeling of achievement! And dropping out of one hurts so bad, even when you are truly injured. But there is always the chance to redeem yourself as long as you wake up the next day! And the more you say “no” to _that voice_ , the easier it becomes to ignore it.

Your videos are inspiration sir. I'm 50 years old. This time last year, I had major surgery to remove part of my colon due to acute diverticulitis. The doctor was amazing. Took me apart and pieced me back together without the need for an ostomy bag. Prior to surgery I spent almost three months with a drain tube protruding from my abdomen to keep the abscess from sending me into sepsis while I waited for my colon to calm down enough for surgery. During this time I resumed a total body kettlebell regimen and built an entire deck off the back of my house. After surgery I worked my way back to health with exercise bands until I was able to lift again. I've gone from 250lbs at 6' tall to 216lbs. I'm not completely out of dad bod waters but I'm definitely moving in the right direction. I'm forced to pay much closer attention to my diet these days to avoid any flare-ups so it's def helped. I have more heart and drive than most of the younger people I meet. I refuse to give up on my goals. The next step is finding a way out of this rat race.

I love this whole message that is being put out there. I have been listening to Bedros since the beginning of the year and I loved the idea about running a marathon. I left my home state in January in order to become a new person and to not hold myself back in regards to anything and build better standards. I decided to run a marathon for a big win because for most of my life I had told myself that I could never run one due to knee pain and mental blocks that come with it, plus I hate running more than anything. I'm trying to get myself to do the things I hate the most so I figured I would make this one of them. I decided to make it a statement and run it on July 8th, when I turn 37, to show that while most people would be sleeping in and resting for the day and enjoying whatever they want, I'm out at 5AM putting myself through pain and doing something I never thought I would do because it doesn't matter what day it is, I'm going to just attack it and become a better person.

I've done zero exercise since, and I used to jog 5km regularly 2 or 3 times a week before. Awesome episode, huge fan here. Keep em coming... One SMALL thing though to all the people thinking of running a marathon. DO NOT go from non runner to marathon in 6 weeks. That is extremely ill advised. Bedros is a beast, he did it and crushed it, great! But if you want to run a marathon (and every man should) you should do a proper 5-6 month program. If you try to rush it, you can get seriously hurt, to the point where it will ruin your enjoyment of running forever. If you do it right, do it in 5-6 months of training and take it serious, you will be a runner for life. Lift heavy shit, run long distances, that's the key to health and longevity. But seriously, running a marathon is no joke, don't try to rush it guys...

This is for the others watching this but, did you know humans are the only species that can run past the moment they want to drop? That’s what led our ancestors to become the apex land predators long ago. We chased our prey and followed their footprints, blood or snapped foliage continuously and kept pushing onwards. Eventually the prey would collapse out of exhaustion leading to a successful hunt. Right now I’m out of shape honestly, But I was and am still am able to run forever it feels sometimes cause I knew that with every step forward will be one more than whatever I’m chasing. It’s not anatomical it’s our special mental capacity to keep going forward that set us apart to make the world it is today. Everything we ever need in life was already given to us by simply having the mentality to keep going forward no matter our circumstances or disabilities. Keep going forward’s friends.
