I always place my back foot back of my front foot slightly closed on the front side keeping 70% of your weight on the front side. Using the front shoulder like a pendulum giving you a slight draw. Always keeping the arms in front on the downswing. Great tips!!

The best way to get your right elbow in front of you in the downswing is to keep it in front of you in the backswing. I tried for a long time to get hand depth by reaching my hands, and therefore my trail elbow, behind me. That was bad. I now know to keep my right upper arm in front of me and my right elbow pointed down in the backswing. If I do that, and I transition with my back to the target, everything falls into place.

I've been dealing with this issue and it has debilitated my golf game as of recent. I had a chance to do these drills today at the range and I cannot thank both Eric and Trevor enough for this video. There are some key feelings/takeaways that helped me implement this and allowed me to see some really great results today. Go slow at first like they mentioned, so slow that you're almost embarrassed at the range. This helped me feel like I was getting into the right positions during my downswing. After the drills I actually kept my trail foot slightly back as if you're setting up to hit a little draw, and used that extra space with my hip out of the way, to make a smooth straight(felt like inside) takeaway into my backswing. Once I got to the top I had a feeling where I almost gave myself a second to let my arms come back/let the club fall in front of my torso and then a nice rotation through allowing my hands to beat my hips. It felt like I had so much time to get to the ball, and felt like I was hitting it softer but the ball was going farther. Lastly, the "flippyness" of the hands that comes with early extension was my next challenge to remedy now that I got way better ball contact results from these drills. Introduced some shaft lean at address during my setup and tried to hold that through impact with my irons. There's plenty more to fix but this is probably the best I've hit the ball in a awhile and a feeling I'm trying to get back. I know this was a lot but thank you again and hope this helps others if they are in the same rut. This will help introduce wear marks on my club face and less on my hosel, Cheers

I always bring my rt shoulder along with my rt elbow during my down swing . I learnt it today to leave the rt shoulder & rib cage as is & only to bring down the rt elbow . This is an eye opener for me . Thanks

I like this drill along with the Scheffler Slide, where you intentionally slide your trail foot and hip back on your downswing. It also helps me get the weight off my trail side and over my lead side.

This is such a common problem and dilemma especially for vertical force players trying to over swing the club to hit an object on the ground. The Michael Jackson knee and butt hump is such a difficult move to eliminate when the wrong focus and movement is applied throughout the swing. Great content fellas.

I get so confused with timing the swing when I try to incorporate something like this. I’ve been working on this lately because I’ve been spinning my hips out as my way to start the downswing, and then I inevitably get stuck, flip the hands, then early extend. But when I practice this concept, I get to the top, but then don’t know how to then start the downswing. Would my arms/shoulders actually start turning before my hips in order to keep them out front?

Hey! Of course there will be a REAL answer....like on paper for a written test......but what YOU.....need to feel depends on WHERE...YOU....currently are...so it's impossible for me to say for sure for you without seeing your swing. Send swings to www.cogornogolf.com so we can see and give you specific answers/guidance

Eric, have heard about connection. Peck bicep. Would like your thoughts on a theory I have just messing around in the kitchen. You always hear connection but never really the details of where. But to the point. I feel for a draw instead of tucking a piece of shirt sleeve to feel it I actually push the lead Peck muscle down with my trail hand and connect almost on top of the nipple gives me room to get the trail elbow back in front. I'm thinking under the nipple for a fade. Have a theory behind why I think and feel this if interested

The fellows from AMG, Milo Lines, and Martin Ayers all say that you are not supposed to have the arms in front of you because impact is on the trail side. Perhaps all of you are saying the same thing, only that you are using different concepts like "trail side" and "arms in front of you" to get the same point across.

By setting your wrists in the backswing and turning the forearms down on the ball on the way down. No flippy wrist action

I’d like to disagree on something that might be subtle but significant. I think the foot, ankle, and knee, and hips 6:33 coming up and out is NOT the cause of EE but rather IS the dreaded EE. My question is WHAT causes this action or is is just a stand alone fault? With respect, Gregg
@dso1986
@dso1986 2 ай бұрын
Its due to fault understanding of how to pressure the club shaft to throw the club head at transition, much more hands involved than sucky ppl think
@CogornoGolf
@CogornoGolf 2 ай бұрын
Usually thats a reaction to 1. Poor setup alignments 2. Shaft too steep 3. Face too open So it's reacting to one of those. to balance a poor setup, to shallow a steep shaft or to help square a club face. If you check out some of our videos on early extension on KZfaq youll see us go through those root cause explanations for ya
