I don't learn mandarin ofc but I manage to understand mybe 70% of those sentences thanks to drama that I have watched .. Drama really helps to crack our language barrier ..

At 5:45, the pronunciation of 和 is given as "hàn". Is this the pronunciation used in Taiwan? So far, I have learned the pronunciation as "hé". Would this pronunciation be understood in Taiwan?

yes. you are right!!! In China, they pronounce "hé" and in Taiwan we pronounce "hàn". But we understand each other well. :) both work!
