Gent's Lounge I like the look on you guys but not sure it’d work for me. In my case I wear no-show socks with sneakers and boat shoes whenever I wear shorts.

I agree with the whole rule, for me: no show is acceptable for causal and semi-formal. But socks definitely for formal and business

I like the no show look. I have been rocking it for a few years now. I think the shoe is a very important factor. If it is winter though you should probably not go for it because people may think you are weird. These are my basic rules. Absolutely never ever wear socks with boat shoes. Almost always wear socks with oxfords. Penny Loafers or Driving Mocs I think look best without socks. Most important of all do what makes you feel comfortable and happy!

Agreed. My general rule is that when the temperature begins to drop (fall) rock the long socks with pants. When the temperature begins to rise (spring) bring it back. It’s a very spring/summer look. Can be worn in early fall, but not once the weather begins to drop or you’re still wearing summer style. That’s my opinion. Agree with the oxfords and boat shoe statements.

I also like the sockless look with casual outfits during the warmer months. I have the Bombas no-show socks, and they come in different heights (for loafers, for casual sneakers, and for athletic sneakers) as well. They do not ride down your heel when you are wearing them. I've had most of mine for over a year now and they are wearing very well.

In a way this answers my previous comment so thanks! I live in AZ where it gets hot but I might also invest in several more pairs of longer socks for more formal occasions or when it gets cold again. Other comments on here truly clarify for me as well much appreciated! With boots I find showing my legs and ankle can look a bit weird maybe socks would be more appropriate with that as well lol. For some reason the no show socks I got still look like ankle socks and not the loafer type you guys showcased maybe I missed something? lol but regardless I think they look fine to.

I think loafers are the most 'formal/dressier" amongst all "casual/informal shoes" to wear sockless. Some shoes due it's design look awful when going sockless look. Pick your shoe wisely or just go w/ white dressy sneakers.

i think certain kinda ppl can pull off the no-socks look. however, it is a trend now and a lot of unoriginal ppl try to do it and fail. i can never pull off this look, and one reason would be for my hairy legs LOL. i find no-socks looks more accepting than sneakers with suits & dress pants.

With a proper suit you need a regular socks and formal shoes. But if you wear a blazer and chino or trousers with anchor fit sneakers works.

I'm always not wearing socks because my feet need to breathe, and they can't if wearing no show socks. Being barefoot is the best, in either slides & boat shoes

While I agree with much of what you have said about no-show socks, especially regarding what shoes to wear when displaying this style, I disagree with your assessment of loafers with socks. Loafers are a timeless shoe, and they have been worn with socks literally for DECADES. The key is to wear them with the RIGHT type of socks. They should NEVER be worn with with tube socks, and your socks should definitely not be too thick. Socks with patterns that indicate that you are showing your socks intentionally, work really well. Once again, Italians do it best. Wear socks that match the colour of your pants, or slightly vary in hue from them, or patterned socks that have the predominant color in your pants, in the pattern of the socks. Trends come and go, but timeless style works best.

We do wear socks with loafers on occasion. Not saying you can’t do it but I think the loader being a warm weather shoe lends itself to the sockless look.

Eye Heart Sushi I think it depends on the Cut and outfit. The polo is one of those fickle items that is in the middle. For example I think the average Ralph Lauren classic fit polo should be tucked in.

Eye Heart Sushi I prefer the tucked in look usually. Normally I wear them with some chinos and Chinos look best when the top is tucked in. One of my favorite outfits is a nice bright polo, cuffed mild colored chinos, no socks, and a nice penny loafer.
