Going to Disneyland in a week. Four days $458 for my son and I. $500.97 for my hotel ( small studio kitchen, free parking, free breakfast, WiFi, and shuttle) Who would’ve thought Disneyland under $1000? I can cook meals in our room, buy my Disney ears online, and pack snacks.

If you forget to bring bandaids/first aid supplies/ or some medicines do not buy them from the gift shops. Stop by the first aid or baby care centers. They’re fully stocked and offer needed items (including baby food) for free.

We just paid cash for our Disneyland trip using some previous advice from Rachel. We booked the trip via Costco for a great price, bonus gifts and even a gift card. We bought all our Disney gift cards at Target using the Target red card for 5% off, and we even used those gift cards to pay for the trip.

One correction...if staying on-site or select Disney Good Neighbor Hotels you can book Fast Pass+ Reservations 60 days out, not 3 months as mentioned in the video. Off-site guests may book 30 days in advance. You can also bring soft-side coolers into the park with icees, no loose ice starting May 1st.

We went to Disneyworld a year ago and brought cash to spend on food and souvenirs. I loved it! It helped us really think about what we were spending and I know saved us a lot of money. For souvenir toys for our daughters, I had them browse the Disney store online prior to the trip to get an idea of what they would want from Disneyworld and I waited for sales online and bought them prior to the trip! This saved us a lot of money. We are always one of the last ones out of the park and we browsed the stores at night once the girls were asleep so we surprised them with their toys in the morning and they thought we bought it at the park!! Total win! And we totally had our older daughter growl loud at Enchanted Tales with Belle. She got picked!! And it was a total highlight for us!! So so magical!!

I Amazon Prime my food to the resort. We always eat breakfast in the room and carry snacks with us. Fruit is readily available in the parks now and we supplement our snacks with fruit. Carry in water bottles and get the refilled in the parks. If you don’t like the taste of the water carry flavor packets with you and split them among the bottles for flavor. We always stay in a villa with laundry and a kitchen which makes life easier when we get there! Loved all the tips and loved the ear selection 😊

There are actually a lot of hotels off property that also provide shuttles to the parks and shuttles from the airport. For example we stayed at a Hilton one time. They provided free shuttles to the parks and from the airport and Disney allowed us to link our reservations on mydisneyexperience and we were able to get fast passes. So if staying off site, I would definitely check the big hotel names like Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott!

Rachel I love you, and I even love how different we are. Like very very different when it comes to Disney. Giving that much time and mental energy on this topic, let alone the money lol. But theLord made us all different... Seriously though, my moms group spent 20 minutes on this topic the other day though, talking about all the different credit cards and debt tricks they like to use and how they would pay it off over the next two years. This episode is so needed!

Totally agree! Disney is the best! We had never been and then were given annual passes by my husband‘s parents for Christmas. We took our 2 1/2 and 5 1/2-year-olds and I thought it was going to be some level of torture but it turned out to be lovely! Now we’re obsessed. We pack a cooler incognito in one of the Thirty One insulated bags. We always make sure to bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, goldfish crackers, and fruit like Mandarin oranges. We also like to bring those RX bars. Anything to keep us from buying so many snacks. We also do the popcorn buckets. Because popcorn is a great food for a little ones to snack on and to stay busy and you can refill them for two dollars apiece if you keep your bucket. They say you can’t use the same bucket after 10 days but we’ve brought buckets that we purchased back in January and they honored the refill. Same with the coffee mugs that you can buy at the resorts. You just refill those for free. 🙌🏼 The bubble machines are super cute at Disney but expensive. Target has a Minnie mouse version for $10. So buying your souvenirs in advance is definitely a great idea! Love that you love Disney! I feel so much more responsible knowing that you are equally as obsessed, LOL

Bring boxed cereal and eat while waiting for bus, eat breakfast at sit down but at the last time, it can be your lunch. You can order kids meals for yourself at quick service. If you preorder memory maker you save like $20. I know you said no park hopper but it is great if you want to avoid the crowds. Most people plan to go to the park with the emh but they never make it in the morning, so go then switch parks when it starts to get busy...or if there are evening emh start at a different park and end at that park. If you have little ones stock up on little Disney surprises before going to park (bubbles, light wands etc) you can find a lot of great things at the dollar store. Then when waiting for rides or fireworks you can give them to the kids.

My husband had a perk with his work where we got for free tickets (she just had to know who to ask) so he and I got two free days at the park. If somebody works at a company that sponsors a ride in Disney, ask and see if they give a benefit of free tickets to employees. We will still have to pay for parking, a hotel and everything else but, hey, free admission really can make a difference.

Obviously, the trip will not be anytime soon, but I'm afraid that I wont be able to take them because by the time I am in BS 4 and above, I will be living on my own with my boyfriend and start planning our future family together. Don't forget about the Baby Care Centers in each park! They have air conditioning, stocked changing stactions, sunscreen, first aid, a playroom with movies for toddlers, and quiet nursing rooms. Truly a godsend for families with little ones! Tom Sawyer Island is also a nice, quiet place for a picnic and a little respite from the excitement of the parks! THANK YOU for sharing *actual* money-saving tips for Disney!!! I have seen so many blog posts about staying on-site and getting the meal plan, renting strollers, and (depending in your situation) none of those save money! However, the advantage of staying on-site is getting to the parks quicker and not having to pay for their exorbitant parking!

Hi Rachel. You can book fast pass 60 days out if you are staying on property; not 3 months in advance. I will give you my best tip that you may not know. Did you know that planning your trip is a great way to pay it forward? Like me, you have received many blessings in your life. It’s great to be able to pay it forward. Did you know that if you book your trip with an Authorized Disney Travel Agent that you pay the EXACT same amount as if you booked it directly with Disney? You also have someone else to get up very early to take care of booking your plans for you. Are you a control freak and want to book your own dining and fast passes instead of having someone else handle it for you? You are perfectly welcome to do that. Before I was an agent, I was just a Disney freak that went to Walt Disney World every year. I liked booking my dining myself but I always either booked my trip with, or transferred my reservation to, a Disney agent. That way, I could help someone else buy food for their family without paying even a dime more! Win-win!!! Just a thought!! Hugs to you!!!

Disneyland only requires the purchase of tickets for those 3 and up. You can always call their Customer Service to verify. I am going by the Disneyland located in California(I checked their website) however, not Disneyworld...I checked both the Disneyland and Disneyworld sites. Children under 3 are free. It is literally impossible to purchase a ticket for a child under 3 for any of their theme parks in the U.S.

This video was sort of... debt free... lol! 🤣 Disney is like anything else you'd buy in life... it costs money. "How much" varies family to family, but Disney trip costs nonetheless. So, when you should not go into debt buying a car or house or education or marriage, you should not go into debt going to Disney! There are a ton of KZfaq content on how to go to Disney as cheap as possible though, even though Disney is changing its pricing almost daily... making it even more difficult to stretch your dollar! 🤣🤣🤣 Good luck with everyone's planning!

My daughter just graduated from Kindergarten and has outgrown her preschool after 3 years. She’s 5 and Disney has been her dream for 3 years - the castle - I hear about that almost daily - so it’s a big deal. We were saving for the trip for her graduation / promotion for 6 months and a couple months before she graduated, my man lost his job. I have a credit card in the freezer (literally - in a cup frozen in ice - it prevents me from making impulse decisions) that I wanted *so* badly to use to bring our family of 6 or at least the oldest 2 kids to Disney for a great grad surprise, but alas, my man has more sense than to let me do that. Thank God! So, we’ll wait until her b-day in a few months or realistically until we can afford it comfortably... but I was a bit heartbroken and it was almost a major rift in our marriage, because we waited with such high hopes until the last minute to face reality. In fact, the local blood bank was doing a Disney ticket giveaway, so I gave blood (In general, I give blood anyway, but this was extra incentive this month). When it does happen, it will be worth the wait and the extra effort. Thanks for these tips!
