Advice on growing a KZfaq channel in 2024. Growing a gaming channel on KZfaq is very tough! These are ways to be a successful gaming KZfaqr following my SUPER SIMPLE 3 STEP PROCESS TO HACK THE ALGORITHM :)
If you want to grow as a KZfaqr, it takes a lot of time and patience. You are NOT hacking the KZfaq algorithm and going viral overnight. You must instead focus on building a community of like-minded people who enjoy a particular topic(s).
Video summarised:
Impressions, Clicks & Watch Time = growth
A normal video that real people enjoy = good video
Utilise role modelling to improve your content
Make your videos background noise

Awesome video. I am small KZfaqr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).

Thank you for NOT saying that you need to upload a video every day. So many people in their “grow your channel” guides recommend this, and I hate that advice. If you have any responsibilities, such as work or children, it’s just not possible without sacrificing quality in a big way. Do I want to make this a full time job and make money? Yes! Do I have the time to release a top quality let’s play or speed build video daily? Absolutely not. And in fact, I haven’t uploaded anything in two weeks because my kids are on Winter Break and it’s just not feasible for me to record anything while they are home. I had a big break over the summer for the same reason, and my channel continued to grow, albeit slowly, and picked up again in September when school started. I really liked the advice about the thumbnails! That is probably my weakest element at the moment.

I’m not sure what my niche is as I feel I’m quite an all-round sort of person (except for sporty) and I feel I can get bored from focusing on the same thing 24/7. Does your income as a youtube creator change based on whether or not we skip the ads in the middle of the video? I listen to/watch a lot of videos while I'm cooking or washing dishes. Sometimes my hands are free to skip the ads and get back to the content I want to watch (like yours) and sometimes I just suffer through the ads. Does it make any difference?
@sahm_and_bean
@sahm_and_bean 7 ай бұрын
Not satch, but the most recent info I've seen is you need to watch for a few seconds after the skip button shows up for it to count as a true (paid) view. You don't have to watch the whole thing, although that helps, but if you skip immediately it won't always count toward that creator's ad views.

I am just an old lady who loves simulation gaming...lol. I had a lot to learn about making videos and youtube in general that I haven't really dived into the content or thumbnail issues very much yet. Your breakdown was simple and easy to understand, unlike so many others who get too technical. I think I now have a grasp on what I need to do this year. Honestly, thank you very much for this video :) Although there are some things I am not entirely sure about, it really was a great starting point. Becoming a KZfaqr has been on my mind for quite a while but I am very camera shy and do not know where to start so this was really helpful. Also some general feedback - I very much enjoy watching your videos because you find balance between a good lil trauma dump and not being family friendly opposed to actually playing the game and recommending content. Also you are a very relatable character in terms of sitting in you pyjamas and a bathrobe at times cause you don’t feel well. It makes you feel human and like „just another average person“ which is comforting for someone who also has trouble even getting out of bed sometimes. Have a great day!

Thank you for this video Satch. I’ve been uploading Sims videos for nearly a year, inconsistently, with minimal views. (Until a vlog of me spending Christmas alone suddenly got me 1.6k views) I now know what I need to try to do with future videos but I wonder, how did you get over the cringe factor of “the shocked face” etc thumbnails? I know every popular Sims 4 KZfaqr does them, but I dislike them so much for some reason, do you think I would get a better click through rate if I did the reaction face thumbnails?

My videos were barely ever reaching even 100 views, however 3 months ago i hit my 100 subscriber goal after a random spurt of growth and now as mentioned im at 141 subscribers and 100 views being quite an easy task, alongside with many comments that i never really got, telling me that my channel is underrated and that me and my friends arw acrually really funny. So when I've already watched a bunch, I have to keep clicking "Next" until I find an unwatched video. Does the algorithm include those circumstances? Or what about rewatching videos- Does it show how many times we watch? Does it show specific accounts or is all of the data show confidential?

Trying to create a gaming channel. The plan is to be able to play basically any game I want but to start I'm just doing open world survival games! I have an enshrouded series going now and I'm having a ton of fun making the videos!

OMG, this was amazing! Thank you for making this and for not regurgitating the same script as all the other "gurus". Honestly, I watch your videos because you're REAL - maybe that's what chaotic and brutally honest actually means. I mean, aren't we all just a bit chaotic in our real human lives? I am definitely using these tips to create a new channel. I keep saying 'it's too late to make videos about *this game* because everyone has already started playing it.' But I started gaming after some of my favorites were out for years, so why not make videos for those who are just starting? I'm deleting all the other "how to start and grow a youtube channel' videos I had saved. This answered my questions. Also, your laugh isn't annoying or distracting. It's one of the things I look forward to in each of your videos. It sounds weird so I hope you don't take it like that LOL. To me, it just means you're honestly enjoying what you're doing and it shows. It's not fake and I love it! Thanks for being you :)

You need to make more of these kinds of videos. I am going to use this. I love your “ I’m not here for any of your 3 simple steps shit I’m gonna tell you how it is” attitude. That’s what makes this such a great tutorial. A lot of people around me ( coincidentally adults) tell me that being a KZfaqr is hard and some of them even without directly saying it think that KZfaq is not a good job. But you are saying that KZfaq isn’t hard it’s just getting out there that’s the hard part. I learned so much I could write a college essay about what I learned even when I’m just going into high school next year. But I won’t. Cuz no one would read it. Just know you should make more of this type of stuff your actually gifted at it.

Make videos people watch as background noise. This is perfect because that's exactly what I spend most of my time on youtube doing. I watch a lot of sims content and I'll often put on a video as background noise while I'm playing the sims. Half the time I don't even know what's going on in the video and I'll actually end up watching it multiple times to catch things I missed lol I find it very soothing!

Thank you for this video, it was very helpful! I have a small german Sims channel myself and I'm just sick and tired of all these "how to go viral in 10 days" videos 😂 I think the best thing you can do is enjoy what you're doing and try to get better with every video you put out.

I watched the whole video. I don’t usually do that. This helped me. I’ve been on KZfaq for 3 years now and went viral with shorts. However, whenever I post a long form video, I get no views at all so in my case viral means nothing. I got subs but they don’t want to watch long form. I’m also a French Canadian and would like to do some French content but I’m scared people won’t watch 🤣 isn’t this ironic ? haha no one watches anyway. I feel as if I have to start all over again because becoming viral gave me a false sense of success. So I’m going to take you’re advice and start from scratch all over again and build a community that likes the same stuff as me 😊nice video btw.

Actual good advice and overall mindset being conveyed here. I hadn't ever made the conscious thought to use color theory for thumbnails and never hear people talk about that. Respect the no bs information and will try and put it to use.

Absolutely love this real explanation of video creation. Being an avid KZfaq watcher, I'm very familiar of the lack in some areas and have some creative ideas on how to keep attention of viewers. I just don't have all the pieces of information to start out strong and being a perfectionist, it's so difficult to just start. I really want to know how you deal with storage of large files and how to secure and maintain quality videos from recording to editing to upload. How to test audio so that you don't record a whole video and find later that your audio or music is too load. What legit must have services or add-ons do you want to make the best output. So many questions! but I love playing games and love watching KZfaq, if I can get do it, evening else will fall into place.
