if you cut the leaf like you saw in this video, it will never root. Instead, try pulling the leaf sideways and remove the leaf exactly at it's joint with the mother stem, (which is actually what he did to the one he showed you with roots). Happy gardening to you all!

I’ve never seen an aloe Vera plant that looks like that before

That is Aloe arborescens, NOT vera.

Only certain types of aloe plants can be propagated this way. The most common type that everyone recognizes as aloe WILL NOT propagate this way.

He didn't get the cutting to root. He showed you roots on one of the baby 'pups' that came from the mother plant.

the one u showed with roots is a "daughter" of the plant and not an actual cutting...

The music and the way he was cleaning that knife reminded me of a Quentin Terrantino film !!! I thought he was preparing to murder the plant !!

That last one used as a completed example does not look like a cutting, it looks like a pup!

The best way to grow new aloe is to wait for the small ones to sprout off the side of a big one and just plant those with the root. I've gotten six huge aloe veras from one and the original parent plant died and yet the new ones have small ones sprouting up to this day.

THANK YOU for being the ONLY video that actually shows the root growth at the end! I literally could not find it anywhere and it was sooooo helpful to know to look for if it's growing roots.

I recently moved from the U.S. to Uruguay and one day while cruising through town on my motorcycle, I noticed that someone had removed a lot of aloe vera and piled it in the street for trash pickup. Having wanted to grow some myself, I picked up a couple of them and brought them home but wasn't sure what to do. Your video helped! Thanks!

Great video but can't read the words. Best color choice would be white letters with black outline. Can be read anywhere, that why they always use white & black in subtitles in movies. Thanks for your video!

I can have so many Aloe Vera plants now. You saved me money especially showing how to make the compost. Thanks.
