How to grow amazing Rhododendrons blooms - with healthy leaves too!

Roger shows us some beautiful Rhododendrons in his garden and around Britain.
He also shares 4 basic tips to help Rhododendrons thrive in gardens and pots / containers.
The 4 basic factors covered in this video are
- Site (they love dappled shade)
- Soil (they are Ericaceous plants, and prefer lower PH (acidic) soils, Roger explains about using Ericaceous compost and Fertilizers, which often include Sequestered, or Chelated, Iron which help the Rhododendron keep healthy green leaves.
- Watering, Roger reminds us to make sure that Rhododendrons don't dry out in the late summer / early autumn when the flower buds for next year could be damaged by drying out.
- Fertilizer to encourage more flowers

Hello Roger. Thankyou for all your advice and tips. Im new to gardening outside and I bought a Rhody from Lidl yesterday. We have a communal garden shared by 8 of us and I'm the only one well and interested enough to make it nice to sit in for us all. It is on an old bomb site and is very stoney with bricks and rubble. Most of the bricks and rubble has been removed and loads of top soil added. Will this be any good to plant the Rhody in? It seems to drain well and there is a fushia planted there that's been growing there very well for the last ten years and there was a climbing rose that grew lovely. Also does the ph need to be high or low on a meter reading. Please help. I love rhodedendrons but I actually got it muddled with hydrangea when I bought it. Always wanted hydrangeas.Thanks for your vids I'm going to watch some more now.xlol.
