Started doing something similar just before covid but with conker trees. Tried oaks but failed but will try again after watching this. Thankyou. I tend to give the saplings at two/three years old to folks to plant out in the wilds who wish to remember a loved one. Obviously they have to be mindful where they plant but farmers have taken them too for rewilding. Doing a bit to save the plant!

Hello my friend, These types of oak trees also grow in our country. A huge oak tree made of an acorn. For me, the development of plants and creatures in nature is impressive. Thank you for sharing how to grow this oak tree. See you. stay healthy and happy. Greetings.

I have several growing in my pots, I just planted an acorn with a tiny shoot, their easy to grow really. You do have to occasionally pot them on once they reach around a foot high and keep wild life away. Behold the wisdom of an oak tree. away

I would say now is a good time although if you have rabbits around or deer, maybe let them get a bit bigger and cover them with some sort of protection.

Hi. Thanks for your video. Quick question, all the acorns I found on the floor last year were all broken or had worms so I picked a few off the tree and I’m keeping it in a damp paper towel inside a container in the fridge. Hoping they will continue to ripen until around jan when I can plant them in a pot. Am I on the right track or making a mess of this?! Thanks.
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects Жыл бұрын
Hi Ash, I would personally keep the acorn dry. it doesn't need moisture until it wants to germinate in spring. If you keep it wet now it could rot. Wait as long as you can before picking one off a tree. Its not yet October.

Hi I live in Melbourne Australia . We have lots of oak trees. It is almost impossible to find acorns that have started germinating How do you get acorns to germinate . I have collected a10 litre bucket of acorns and I have put them in damp soil with no result . We don’t get snow in Melbourne or cold that you get in the UK . Is that the reason ?
@PhillWyattProjects
@PhillWyattProjects 3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried planting them, keeping them damp, and then leaving them for several months? They are slow to germinate. You might need to put them in the fridge for a few weeks then plant them to trick them which can encourage germination. They have evolved so that the seeds waits through winter before germinating. They need to go through a period of cold.
