Bottle gourd also known as Calabash, Opo, or Lauki is a very easy to grow vegetable plant that you can try in your small space vegetable beginner garden. I have tried planting bottle gourd in pot, 5 gallon container, and my no dig raised bed garden. This vegetable can be really get productive and you can get lots of harvest even you are growing it for the first time.

Aw, thank you friend for the kind words. This is my first time ever growing bottle gourd and I'm happy to share my experience in growing them. I do have trouble with vine borers in my squash right now and I can tell you it is discouraging to grow them sometimes. 😄

Sorry to hear that. Fortunately it's not yet a problem along the Pacific coast where we live. BTW, found the following info by googling. You may wanna give it a try if you haven't yet. Good luck. ***If you can find the entrance holes and “sawdust,” try inserting a wire and thread it through the stem for some distance to kill the larvae inside. Sprinkle diatomaceous earth around the stalks when the squash vines are small or the threat of squash vine borers is high (early to mid-summer). Reapply after rain.

@@Hawks-Oasis Thank you for the infos I haven't tried that yet. I mostly remove it using knife but sometimes it's too late already to save the plant. I will try that technique in the future. I see you love to grow vegetable too goodluck with your son. Gardening is very therapeutic.

Sautée them or 🍲 soup. I have to cut it into two and good for 4 meals.😅
