Here's a tip for people that don't know. I work for Starbucks and if you call us, we will save our grounds for your garden form you to pick up. We usually save them from our cold brew process. We get a ton of grounds from brewing our cold brew.

For anyone who doesn't know: take a whole pineapple with you to the beach or out on the boat. Towards the hottest part of the day, right when you come out of the water and still have that ocean taste in your mouth; cut up and eat that fresh pineapple. It will be one of the most delicious things you will ever eat. Learned this on my first dive.

I live in zone 9b sw Florida and I grow beautiful pineapples just like you. I make a liquid aloe fertilizer that I feed my plants with and they absolutely love it. It helps to trigger the pineapple to fruit. I have 25+ pineapple plants growing around my garden. They truly are like nothing you will ever eat from the store. I grow mine in pots and I use cactus potting mix.

Best and most informative video I’ve seen so far for growing pineapple. I have two crowns that have been in water for 1.5 years because I’ve not found very good or informative instructions for the soil. The crowns have a massive root system but I’m sure that will be short lived if I don’t get them planted soon. Thank you for the encouraging video! ~Rob

I water root my pineapples and plant in a big pot by my south facing garage. I also plant them in raised mounded ground. It doesn’t matter so much the soil, as long as it drains. Fertilize with slow release, coffee grounds, egg shell. Keep on the sunny side.

@@jillellis62 I respectfully disagree. It IS that easy. I have had only one failure in 30+ attempts and that is without using any of what this video teaches for dirt, acidity, fertilizer, drying out the roots, etc. I am excited to apply this new knowledge and increase the output. You and i use a lot of the same techniques. However, I grow my pineapples beneath the shade of my mango and avocado trees (I'm in Orlando) they do grow a bit slower in the shade, but they will still produce fruit within about 14 months in a garden space that would otherwise remain unproductive. Like the Video! 👍 I did learn a few things about the plant itself. Only once, did I let a plant continue to grow, after harvest. It did grow another pineapple off the side. I didn't know about twisting that sucker off. I will have to try that method. I have been growing pineapples for a lot of years in Wyoming. Keep 3 or 4 growing at all times. Would have more if I had more windows. Mine never get very big though. But are superb tasting over store bought. I don't quite have as long of direct sunlight. Lot of the time, not good temp's. I did try grow lights. But it didn't really seem to help. I just twist my crown off by hand. Then pull off several rows of leaves and dry. Never had a plant fail to grow. I never did repot my plants. Just using about a 2-1/2 gallon pot. What fits in the window. I will have to try your pot mix ratio. Wasn't much info. when I started growing, years back. I will also have to try and repot to a bigger pot next time around. Have a golf ball sized cutie rising now. Thanks for the video!

I'm a new subbie from California 👋🏾 Glad I seen your video bcuz I was just about to put my pineapple 🍍 stim in a wet cup of water 💧 Thank you for letting me know that I need to allow it to dry out for a week. I'm looking forward to planting something, anything and it bearing fruit😂
