Propagating hydrangeas from cuttings is a quick and easy way to get even more plants for your garden. All you need is a green stem and a little soil.

I needed this! My hydrangeas are waning more each year. They came from my 83yo mother's yard that she got from her mother-in-law's yard back in the 1960s. So mine came from roots that are well over 100 years old.

Omg 😮 hydrangeas by cuttings ..... Wow....🎉

This works great. Scrape off the skin on the bottom inch and apply a little rooting hormone and it will really take. But you don't have to use hormone with hydrangeas.

I've taken cuttings now - into the pot with rooting gel - can they be left outside or do they need to be covered in plastic my ones seem a bit dead in themselves even after a few days

Do I need to dip it in anything like cinnamon or turmeric or honey or growth hormone powder??

At what time in the season is this done? It's currently summer where I live and my neighbors have a lovley pink hydrangea, should I propagate the cuttings now or later in the season, late summer early fall, or is late fall better?
