"How to grow lemon through air-layering? Cloning of lemon plant/ Propagation of lemon plant". This video is about growing or propagation of lemon plant through air-layering. Although you can grow lemon through seeds, but that is not the proper way of propagating this plant. It is so, because the seed grown lemon plants may take up to 6 yrs. for fruiting and there is no guarantee that the fruits of such plants will match with that of the mother plant. But, air-layering and grafting are two such techniques of cloning a lemon plant that guarantees fruiting within one or two years and hundred percent matching of fruits with that of the fruits of mother plant. That is Calamondin orange. Nursery people will call in either Chinese orange or Chinese lemon.

Spray PGP fertilizer 2, 3 times at a gap of 1 month such as Miraculan before flowering. Also spray seaweed extract once every month. Water less when the flowers are fully bloomed.

Either spray neem oil with a little soap and baking soda or neem-garlic extract over the plants at an interval of 7 days for 2,3 times and thereafter regularly once in a month. You can spray other chemical fungicides like SAAF if you are not satisfied with the result of the former.

I am also having the same plant as yours scented lemon plant it did started fruiting and flowering.15 days earlier I had done gudhai and left the plat for 3 days for getting sunlight to the roots after 3 days I applied cowdung manure and bonemeal and after that it has started to dry up leaves are falling and fruits also falling as I stay in mumbai honey bees are rarely seen I do hand pollination. I do watering only 3times a week.

Fertilizers or manure should be applied at least 3 weeks earlier than the time of flowering. Always use properly decomposed manure to avoid such happenings.

@@CITYGARDENING thankyou for replying earlier also u answered my query following to which I was able to achieve the fruiting results of my plant,as you said about fully decomposed manure I applied the manure which I bought from agricultural store was kept for 6 months and then I opened the package and dried the manure for 6 days then applied to the plant.

Balanced npk is what contains equal parts of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, like npk 19 19 19. Mix 5 gms per litre of water to apply.
