i’m in the process of getting lighter and i’m in cosmology school. to get the best out of your oils you should wait until your hair is at least half way dry or all the way dry. oil and water don’t mix. also the shimmer lights is one of the best purple shampoos i’ve ever used, and i’ve used some pretty expensive ones. i only wash my hair once a week and sometimes i can push it to not washing it for a week and a half depending on what i’m doing. if i’m just going to school i just throw my hair up in a pony tail with my favourite little bobbles they’re plastic and in a spring form. they’re awesome. so are scrunchies. i use an apple cider vinegar shampoo and conditioner they are vegan and organic so no sulphates and no silicones. which i have found work so well. i’m allergic to sulphates and a lot of soap bases so i used to shower at night and take a benadryl before hand so i wouldn’t break out as bad. but i completely stopped breaking out on my scalp. i could just talk about hair all day lol! but just a couple things

@@solotraveler7078 if your hair is still having a lot breakage you should try using a protine filler and TOTAL REPAIR 5 LEAVE-IN PROTEIN TREATMENT use a loooot of it i mean like a handful and use argon oil that's what i did it helps with the extreme breakage but won't stop it completely nothing really can You can and possibly should use more than one leave in condition and oil i use 4 creamy leave ins and a refreshing spray a serum and two oils but if you are short on cash just the total repair and some argon oil will help Do this ever time you wash your hair except the oil part do that daily and always before you brush it Only use shampoo that's for extreme damage and use a couple different conditioners and a deep treatment let all the conditioners sit for at least 15 minutes i do mine for 30 minutes each with a shower cap always do this with a shower cap or any kind of plastic wrap rinse and repeat with the shampoo until it really lathers up because you will have build up from all the oil and stuff I use two shampoos i only wash once a week instead if using normal toner if your hair gets brassy use purple shampoo or conditioner If your hair is vary rough to the touch and that's a problem for you and i mean a real problem like your hair is noticeably rough when just looking at it you can use (with a ton of heat protection and leave in conditioner) Use a flat iorn with a vary fine tooth comb to make it smother Sleep with a cap/bonnet always and i would suggest braiding loosely if loosely rolling your hair so you barely have to brush it If your hair is vary thin in certain places use hair extensions Sadly no matter what you do you'll have to cut some of your hair but just wear extensions if it's to short for your liking When you brush your hair try to use a wet brush/tangle teaser or wide tooth comb Hope this helps

I do my hair in a deep conditioner once a week due to my breakage an it really helps my hair a lot along with no tangles. Also I'm glad this works for you but I personally think you use too many different products in your hair. This just isn't for me. I use the purple shampoo as well which really helps out a lot an I'm going to try the first set of shampoo and conditioner you suggested in hope that it helps my breakage some. Thanks for the tips!

Try coconut oil. It's honestly the best. I put it on just before I wash my hair. And it's the best treatment. Also natural with no chemicals. I use organic virgin oil. Leave it anywhere between 30 minutes or even the night before you wash your hair. Also do not melt it in the microwave. Hope this helps.

Hiyaa! I had a lot of damage and dry ends, and what really made a difference for me is using a wooden brush with wooden bristles! I started using it when I last highlighted my hair, and it already grew 3cm ( its been a month) and I feel like my natural hair oils really go to my ends ever since. Every night before I go to bed I brush my hair from front to back and from nape to front. Then I'll put it in a braid and go to sleep. I hope that helps xx

Thanks for the info! Your hair looks great. I went from my natural color (dark blonde/light brown) to platinum blonde, then went like 4 different semi-permanent wacky colors (which don't do any additional damage) , then got upset by the mucky looking staining that was left over, so I dyed it permanent black and absolutely REGRETTED it. So I've lightened it again and now of course it's got dead ends and such. Highly do not recommend doing that, but I'm impulsive, so lol... I'm gonna try olaplex 3 and it's a 10 miracle mask and see how that works. I've used olaplex 3 before and it worked wonders. Mayonnaise and eggs can also help because of the protein!

My hair was finally down to my armpit after growing it out from a bob cut but I had like 3 different colors so I wanted just to lightly bleach it and have it grey, but in the hair salon the guy put the bleach on my hair and serain wrapped it and kept it on for 30+ min when my hair was already almost white, after some time my scalp was BURNING, he took the serain wrap off and my hair was FUMING, there was smoke coming off, and when he was washing it I just had this feeling in my guts that something was wrong, I could hear the drain getting clogged and was super scared, when I went back to the chair and he showed me my hair.... I almost cried, it looked like mashed potatoes, and I just kept seeing hair flying off as he blow dryed it, now I have chunks less than half of the length they had before, it looks like a flashback from last year when in New Years I went to this hair dresser to get a curly hair style, but for some reason she started to layer my hair, and it looked awful so I spent almost an whole year growing it out, and half of it wearing half of my hair up so it wasn’t noticeable. Guess I gotta prepare myself for it again, wish me luck

I have an underdye and I love it, I’ve had it for 6 months and I have been retouching it once a month, professionally. The issue is that bleach has cause some of my hair to break and when I put my hair up in a ponytail, you could see the short hair that has broken off because of the damage. Like I said, I love the style and I don’t want to stop bleaching it. What do I do to prevent more hair at the nape of my neck from breaking?

ive been hairdressing for many many oh my god so many years and the only thing that makes broken hair stop breaking is making it acid balanced, I have always used a low pH shampoo as well as a low ph conditioner, don't go lower than 4.5 and use panteen, yes i said it. that stuff has saved my own hair from my experiments. Sounds crazy but it works. Don't rub it into your scalp because it causes a greasy scalp. It creates a buildup on the hair and that's what is needed to fill in the open cuticles. But hey stop the problem before it starts and know when to stop bleaching, its addictive, know your limits.

@@TKR-rp4xv if your hairs really damaged / breaking (it’s different if it’s just falling out) I would recommend being really careful with it and don’t brush it often, and don’t use any heat!! avoid brushing it when it’s wet as well as it will break more. using olaplex especially no.3, and this redken anti snap treatment helped a bit, and like hair masks and coconut oil as a mask. Argan oil like she said is good for ur hair too. It’s really hard to undo breakage , eventually mine because a lot less drastic but my hairs essentially still really damaged at the ends, I would recommend getting trims more often. Good luck ! 💓💓

I’m confused because mine has broken from bleaching the roots, so I’ve been using restructuring conditioner/Olaplex, but I think it’s breaking more, since too much protein makes it brittle. I’m angry because my hair dresser used a different bleach one time, higher volume to leave on less time, and it’s an inch and a half long where it used to be halfway down my head.

Here are some tips easy to add to your hair routine! Theyre small but have a huge effect over time: -leave your hair be! NO HEAT, dont wash often, dont do complicated ir tight hair styles. -silk pillow cases or bonnets at night -comb your hair with a WIDE toith comb ONLY when theres conditioner in -dry your hair with a t-shirt instead of a towel -use products without sulfates & parabens -olaplex is a good power treatmeant, but use any treatment once a week -be patient!! I bleached my naturally black dry hair today and its literally falling off lol but i know itll heal over time when i just take care of it! :)

Yes! I used to have really long hair and then I colored it and just wanted a change. Initially I didn’t cut it because it was unhealthy I just wanted something different but after I cut it the first time it’s never wanted to grow back because of the bleach. 😫 I used to wear extensions a lot whenever I wanted a longer look. 😊
