How do you safely get information about the outside world into a totalitarian regime like North Korea, where the penalty for watching a Western movie or reading a newspaper is death?

^_^ Sweet! Out 9 hours ago! I'm going to take notes with this one! I have studied a bunch of their sites recently, and been on their sites before. Various plans to hack them to earn legit legal bounties. Also, Americans, myself included at one point (born and raised in infamous Miami, FL, USA, and thankfully live away from Miami, FL, and America now), and plenty others, would laugh at North Korea for their outdated military weapons. Now, they have so much advancement, and Russia, as I expected, wants to back them up! America, the unconstitutional preemptive warmongering profiteering capital of the world, for G.O.D. (Gold Oil Drugs), now has a challenge. The giant bully America, that tried/tried to recruit people like me and others, especially troubled male teens, and harasses them for a while since the grooming doesn't work on all of us, with their shitty JROTC and such, has more bullies now, yay! Let the games begin. Hehe.

:3 Yeah, it's interesting to learn how Korea was split. It shouldn't have been split, apparently. Definitely not a republic, nor a democracy. Just as America isn't a democracy, though many dumbly call it a democracy. In the Pledge of Allegiance, "republic" is mentioned, not democracy, and the majority vote doesn't automatically change a law, very obviously so, hence a republic. Also, the Founding Fathers openly spoke against having any political parties because of the divide it would cause, like in Europe, where they ran from. Now, we have a two-party puppet show, which is just run really by lobbyists (legal bribes), shareholders, corporations, and the infamous warmongering profiteering military-industrial complex (that Eisenhower and the Founding Fathers openly warned us of). The Founding Fathers, as fellow Deists, thankfully ran from man-made, unoriginal, and very infamous Christianity, a religion mostly spread by extreme violence and extreme laws, and openly spoke against Christianity (unlike what many right-wing will lie about, saying the Founding Fathers were Christians and loved Christianity, just as many falsely associate Roman Catholic Hitler as an atheist). Near-death experience consensus debunks religions, and many leave their religion after having a near-death experience, and many thankfully leave material atheism dogma too. Amongst several other ways these cancerous religions and cancerous material atheism dogma have been debunked too. Also, the Founding Fathers fought against the fake "Federal" Reserve, and now, since 1914, the "Federal" Reserve has ruined America worse than it was, and hurt the world even more than it did before with America controlling the world's money. Especially in 1933 was really horrible, when the "Federal" Reserve made money into debt notes. Corrupt world.

:3 The Restrict Act in America might pass. If it does, say goodbye to having any sort of privacy, even offline. Using a VPN, unauthorized apps, photos they don't like, etc. will lead to 20 years of prison, and there are huge fines involved too. I don't remember exactly how it is handled. The infamous American government at it yet again, using propaganda, yet again (like Hitler openly loved), by saying it's about TikTok. Which, on record, TikTok pays the American government shares of their income, so these court cases we see are all show, another part of the puppet show. Russell Brand is amazing with breaking through the center side. I agree with a lot of things he says, and have loved his comedy for years. He's a fellow centrist, fellow vegan, and fellow spiritual and non-religious brother (I'm anti-religion though too, as religion [and material atheism dogma] has been very deceptive, violent, controlling, unoriginal, debunked, and outright cancerous). He's covered this stuff recently. I remember several years ago, the government and corporations wanted to control the internet and sell it as packages like the TV channels are in packages and controlled. I signed against the government and corporations doing that, and shared around the petition (if that even does anything...). It thankfully didn't pass. The FEMA camps under Obama, exposed by Jesse Ventura and others, still exist. They have train tracks near them, like the proven to be true Holocaust of my Jewish people and the many others Hitler hated (Hitler wrote about others in the Holocaust, videos and images, and other evidence, and even Germany outlaws Nazis and apologized about the Holocaust [which is on stolen land of my Jewish people, where Hitler invaded after staging a false flag attack on his radio tower on the Polish/German border with his men dressed in Polish outfits]). Signs that say no one is allowed out, playgrounds in the FEMA camps, barbed wire pointing inward, coffins seen right by it, etc. Many non-violent protestors of Occupy Wall Street and such were arrested, on record, and plenty were said to be put into FEMA camps. Obama, yet another puppet, as he did so much that he said was against. He's related to infamous Hillary (the Clintons run much of the world, Whites, now Jewish... Lol), infamous, Bush Jr. (run much of the world, Whites, not Jewish... lol), he's related to Trump (White, and runs most of his jobs in Mexico and China, and plenty of his campaign gear was proven to be made in China), etc. Presidents tend to be related, all but one were White (Obama is half White and half Black [not Jewish any]), and most are of English descent. The ICE camps, which many hated Trump (who's very corrupt, lied a lot to get into puppetry/presidency like the next politician, is fat, never worked a hard day in his life due to his rich daddy, etc.) over, exist with Biden. Lol. Two sides of the same coin, in so many ways. So on and so forth. I thankfully left America.

My wife is South Korean and sometimes the North Koreans that escape will embellish their stories or outright lie to secure book deals and interviews. Not all North Koreans do this but since there is no way to verify their story it is hard to know who might be lying. That said I am perfectly fine with any North Korean lying to help them achieve a better life as they deserve that better life after what they have been through. This North Korean seemed quite truthful in her storytelling.

I've been by train from Dandong (China) all the way to Pyeonyang. The Yalu river is quite wide. Between Dandong and Pyeonyang is nothing but rice fields. There are some modern huts for people to live in, but no "villages" or communities. Just rice fields and huts. Being in Pyeonyang, I learned a lot of stories of sadness of citizens. Life is not easy for North Koreans.

It's so sad that people have no access to basic needs when I am overweight and poor. It's so unfair and I really feel bad for people who are trafficked into slavery. The guy executed for eating the cow wasn't killed "for eating a cow". He was killed for theft and destruction of state property. I know a guy from communist Russia who got out in the 90s and basically said "everyone stole, but getting caught was a serious offense because everything is state owned, so it wasn't just ordinary theft, it was theft from the state itself" Basically the guy who stole a cow from a dairy was killed because it was a hit to dairy production and harmed the state because now they are down a dairy cow.

I was hoping the podcast would have Yeon-mi turn into an ace hacker against the DPKR and get some measure of revenge. Not going to lie, I was holding back tears listening to her family's story. To be 13 and sex-trafficked, it's just... I was a care-free teenager once, worried if I was cool enough for school and concerned with other such trivial things, and then there are people in this world at that age forced into sex slavery just to survive. Her mother accepted the rape intended for her just to spare her of the revolting act, only in the end to... But oh what joy when I heard her speak! Ms. Park's story first became widely known in 2015. Since then she's been interviewed by just about everyone including Dennis Prater, Lex Fridman, Joe Rogan and more. I highly recommend her book that came out in 2015... Yeonmi Park: "In Order to Live."

You need to send flash drives, cell phones, cables for drives to connect to phones, recharge cables, and solar chargers for the phones so you don't need power. Plus they need someone to be in China to give this stuff for free to the north Koreans instead of letting stupid Chinese make money selling this stuff to people who can't afford it. It's easy if you already have the infrastructure you say you have.

54:06 As someone living in a country who used to be under cruel oppressors, this mindset is understandable. But without risking ones lives, you will forever be oppressed. That's why to this day, we honor the leaders who lead the revolution and died for the country. While they were ultimately unsuccessful, they paved the way to the freedom we have today.

Yeonmi is not a reliable source. She clearly went through a lot but now is in the business of being an influencer selling certain narratives, it’s inherently political and she has many incentives to exaggerate and lie. Remember that she gets financial support from the very same countries that are still at war with NK.

I'm a skeptic when it comes to any information that supports a political narrative on any side. All of the information that i have seen about NK is strongly opposed to the regime, and probably for good reason. I still can't help but wonder how accurate the information is when all we know is anecdotal evidence from defectors who are sponsored by the SK and US governments. Let's face it, we know nothing about NK other than that they are a very isolated country at odds with the western world. After Bush's war on terror over chemical weapons that didn't exist and the various coups orchestrated by uncle sam over the years, i can't help but distrust any information that is spread about so called pariah states.

@@trashpanda-rz2xy I just sort of realized my immediate response to how appalled other country's are from hearing, learning NK government, I just think, well, we're not all that different, it's just more controlled on a mental level for least us in the US, everything we see and hear is regulated, everything we are provided to eat, drink, wear, buy, we're just brainwashed to the point that it's very difficult to admit how controlled we acually are. Example, when your poor, you don't usually have the ability to buy the expensive organic nongmo food,so in turn, poor end up basically being forced to eat toxic food, poisoning themselves, causing obesity, diabetes, auto immune disorders, cancers, then the dirty tech, the crap that's literally frying our organs, brains, penal glads,ya know 3rd eye stuff, it oppresses the true self, the enlightened ability, the telepathic, the awareness of we are all One, higher dimensions, all the fru fru stuff the avg folk sort of smirk at and then go back to work cus that's what we've been taught we're supposed to do to survive, I mean, what's money, nothing, who the hell said its what we have ti have to survive, them, I mean, I could just plant my garden, learn my grandmother's medical knowledge, be the Dr for the family, trade one another for eachothers talents, and we'd all have a whole lot more time to focus on our spiritual higher self growth, shit, wed be able to communicate cross sea telepathically if we were allowed the time to focus on learning to do it, we wouldn't need any tech. But we have grown to like our comforts we're told are comfortable, so no one really bothers to look outside the invisible box...idk,that might of totally been off topic and I misunderstood everything your both talking about, and I may have just vented off topic, but that's my thoughts, about NK, its horrible what they go through, but i do feel like majority of us, general public are all sorta in that position, its just on a different level. Wtv. I'm a bit more "out there" sorta thinker, and don't get me wrong, I freaken love tech, and I am as well born into the herd and know my minds been warped by our socialized ideas, and I admit im totally addicted to these darknet diaries, lol.

Don't want to totally dismiss Yeonmi's experiences in North Korea and I do believe she absolutely defected from there, but there has long been doubt about whether she is embellishing or making up stories. There is a Washington Post article that was posted just a couple of months after this video that goes into detail about Yeonmi's background and the doubts that North Korean experts have regarding her ever-changing narrative. I don't blame Jack for perhaps not being aware of the concerns surrounding Park's story as it seems she takes advantage of the mysterious nature and lack of info we have about North Korea to manipulate most of the people interviewing her. North Korea is undoubtedly a terrible place, but making up stories for publicity and money is definitely not the correct way of shinning a light on the atrocities going on there. I just discovered this channel and (at the time of writing this comment) this is only the 2nd video I have watched, but I am enjoying the production value of the episodes and will definitely be watching more of Jack's videos.

7:04 Yoenmi ran the GRIFT on us 😞 I just gave this another listen and she’s all over the place with inconsistencies. I dug into more info about NK after hearing this the first time because naturally your story telling is brilliant and moved me, but that led me to find someone who was making inaccurate and contradicting claims. I thought there was no way it’s the same person on your show but sadly it is. It wasn’t just a few minutes in to the re-listen that her first contradiction came up which is the time stamp I have marked. She claimed she was “hungry” and middle bottom class but in reality she’s famously been called Paris Hilton because of her actual upbringing. Her reputation was documented from a tv show that she was a part of called Now On My Way To You. What drives me mad is that it’s natural for us to accept anything that looks positive and people are praying on our altruism. I mean how does it look to question this? Take child trafficking for instance. Operation Underground Railroad, while yes they may actually be “fighting” trafficking (albeit with well documented questionable and detrimental tactics), they’ve been active in exploiting QAnon and other conspiracies simply by not coming out publicly and denouncing it’s existence. Leading to an influx of other organizations having to waste man hours to simply validate leads instead of all hands on deck for accurate situations. Time is life or death for these organizations so grift victims crying wolf eats away at critical resources. There may be some truth involved of what OUR is doing and Yoenmi’s experiences, but there are no place for lies. This is one of my favorite channels and as mentioned before you do a brilliant job. If I thought you were knowingly spewing falsehoods, especially to make money I not only put you on blast but I’d actively steer people away from your channel. For me, the integrity of information falls apart real quick when I see what’s immediately stated above. Consider now I have to alter my review when asked about the show. I’ll say it was fantastic when I thought it was accurate, but you can’t believe everything he says so don’t waste your time unless you just want to hear a good story. Hopefully you dig in again and find out for yourself and either add an addendum or even delete the episode. I’m just one person but it’s the only way I can justify listening. I feel your heart is in the right place and honestly you got played like we all did. It was a gut punch feeling like being catfished. So I’m not going to say Jack is a bad dude spreading lies, but even if your heart is in the right place, there’s too many options fighting for our attention and if I feel yours is inaccurate, I’ve gotta spend my time somewhere else where trust hasn’t (yet, knock on wood) been breached. By no means is this meant to be taken as a threat because first of all I’m just one person, and second, I feel like you’re a solid guy who wouldn’t want to exploit anything. But despite my still feeling like that it doesn’t change the value of the information I’m looking for. Anyway I do want to say thanks for the great stories I got to enjoy in the past!
