Just a word of *CAUTION* to anyone using the included Kernel Installer Tool. The tool will *DELETE* without any warning, any LBOOT.EPB on the root of the USB storage device. So if say for example; You use your personal USB drive to mod another Playstation Classic console, maybe a friends so they can use OTG, and you use the included tool to create a backup of that system it will *OVERWRITE* any existing backups with no warning or prompt as shown in the AutoBleem 1.0.0 logs (Exec:rm -rf /media/LBOOT.EPB). Just make sure to move or rename your backup before starting. I suggest using the serial number of the Playstation Classic as part of the name to avoid mixing them up.

Such fun memories hooking mines up back in 2019 using your guides. It just sits there now, but if I'm ever feeling the mood to dive into some retro games, it's right there. Still get overwhelmed thinking about what this tiny machine can do when you mod it, and how convenient it is.

The PS Classic is where my interest in modding systems started, and I couldn't have done it without your guides! I've since modded a switch, and most recently an Xbox series s. My PS classic doesn't get alot of use now sadly, but it's by far the most cost effective console to mod!

Spent the last week tinkering with Project Eris (I'm new to modding), but something in there wouldn't let me run RA or open games in ES whatsoever and the lack of info anywhere was frustrating. Uninstalled PE, followed this video for Autobleem and bam, I can open RA and everything is running as I'd expect. Thanks for making this as simple as possible!

After chatting with someone in the Discord room, found that the kernel install doesn't prevent the need for booting from the USB. The USB is needed always. Autobleem merely flashes upgrades to Sony's firmware to allow OTG/Wifi/Bluetooth. Also, once the kernel is flashed, an OTG cable is an absolute non-negotiable requirement, not an option. The underpowered front USBs don't put out enough current to read the USB stick. I ran into this problem after flashing the kernel and even recreated the USB stick...this PSC will never boot again until I get an OTG cable. Buy an OTG cable before you get started to avoid extreme frustration. Also buy a power supply with its own switch so you don't have to yank the power cable so often.

To anyone having trouble with the multi disk games you cannot use anything like .chd or .pbp for multi disk games. You can only use straight up .bin and .cue files. Like mentioned in this video, you just drop the bin and cue files for all the disks of the game straight into the "games" folder. Don't sort them in their own folders or zip them. If done right and all bin and cue files are included it should work just fine. I just got resident evil 2 working no problem following this awesome tutorial. I am new to psx mini and autobleem. Thank you for this video it was very helpful! I hope my comment helps somone out there who may still be having issues.

If you don't mind me asking, are .chd files going to work properly in the "games" folder if they aren't a multi disk game? Also, when you say don't sort them in folders, it sounds like you are saying unlike normal games where each game has a folder with its bin/cue, ini, png files etc, these ones you just drop all the files, outside a folder? Or do you mean put all of the files in the 1 folder under the game name instead of separating them? Because all the games have the same "Game.ini" name for the file, so if dropped right into the "games" folder, you can only do 1 multi disk game

I followed all of the steps but when I get to your step on flashing the kernel I get a message that reads “This PSC has not been restored to original condition. Unable to flash,” and when I added a ps1 game it didn’t show up in the games list, however I added a few N64 games and found them through the retro arch application- they display the game but do not detect the dpad buttons so I am unable to play it right. If you have any advice please let me know, thank you.

I had the "This PSC has not been restored to original condition" issue also. It turned out there was an old version of bleemsync on my console at one time. Look up bleemsync uninstall image. It's still available on the bleemsync/product eris site. I ran that and was good to go.

For me it flashes amber and green but nothing loads on my tv screen and then it just automatically turns off my ps1. How do I fix this?

Due to the New Autobleem update......CHD files now work......however some of the games while being scanned will cause the system to shut down and giving you an error code.....for this just play the games through retroarch.......

can you please explain if you use a 64gb flash drive (4:36) , you format it then use a back up , then on 13:12 it shows the GAMES folder on the same 64gb flash drive its 70.8gb ??

During that part of the video, I switched to my personal build which is a 120gb ssd. I did this for demonstration purposes, so when I turn it on, you could see alot of new titles on the mod, rather then just 1.

@Restalgia My console never booted me back to the apps page after backing it up. It black screened and the power indicator continues to flash. It's been about 15 minutes. Is that normal?

After 2 hours I unplugged the system and confirmed the drive had the Lboot, but I keep getting an error message that says, "Invalid backup or kernel image" when I try to flash the kernel, and it automatically powers off. I've followed every step exactly. Currently recopying the Autobleem 1.0.0 files over to the drive again in case they got corrupted somehow in the process. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

When importing ps1 game, can each game be in its own folder inside the games folder? I'm going to want to import a lot of ps1 games from my pc is the reason I'm asking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder, is dual shock or analog controllers even capable with ps classic or not? I know it only came with regular original controllers, but i just wonder about using other methods like ps3 controller on it connected via usb

Very good video, thanks! I would like to leave a note regarding the .PBP disk files I have several multidisc games in .PBP format in a single file, just convert correctly by inserting all discs in the conversion. To choose the disks and make the exchange, just access the RetroArch settings and in the disk settings, choose the disk you want at the time of the exchange. The files fits PS Classic, PSP and PS Vita (Adrenaline) perfectly like official Sony games. This would make a nice video teaching the guys.👍

@@flyingwings4740this was my first time modding anything. I noticed that when I tried to add fear effect, a 4 disc game, it added itself to my home screen carousel as if it were 4 different games... how can I fix this? Or is that how it's supposed to be done?

try a smaller USB drive in the front if you got it. Bigger USB's require more power and those front USB's simply don't provide very much unless you do the soldering hack for more power. Also, the PSC was designed with USB2.0 in mind so those tend to work better. If another USB works, install the OTG hack, get a better USB wall plug with at least 2.0 amps and run it that way with the 128gb OR you can try a powered USB hub on the front to supply the power needed for the USB drive to function.

you have to use a self powered usb stick , ie it will light up when its reading , once the kernal has been delivered on it you can tranfer that data to an unpowered USB and use it on OTG adapter. I just used a powered old 2mb USB stick to do the first part then tranfered the data once kernaled

I'm having trouble it booting up. I did everything. My USB was a stock SanDisk 64gb Fat32 system. I transfered the files and when I turn on the ps classic it just boots up normal.

Unplug it and make sure the USB is plugged in before you plug in the power cord. On a side note, the thumb drive might not be compatible.

Hi, bit late to the party .. Question. I've hacked mine with autobleem and gone through the whole process... if I was to do the same with another ps can I simply copy the files from my USB to a new formatted USB and have it work the same without going through the process ? Hope that makes sense

Your Tutorial was very helpful for me. As a autistic with ADHD I have difficulty with instructions that aren't visible. But yours were very clear and understanding. I didn't understand what a OTG was but I'm 46 and this stuff is new to me. My only question is how you handle Multiple Disk Games. Like Thousand Arms or Lunar. How do you switch disks when you reach the point to do so? I know with a emulator you just switch the disk in the options. A answer to this question would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Hi, I have watched your video about 15 times now. This is the best video to Jailbreak the PlayStation Classic so far. I've bought a PS Classic yesterday and I'm having issues with USB Flash Drives since mine are not compatible. So, I ordered the AuviPal 3-Port Micro USB OTG Hub Adapter from Amazon and I have a question though. Is it possible to Jailbreak the console directly using that USB HUB that works in the back of the console?

Well i have problems i bought SanDisk Cruzer Glide 2.0 it had program inside install SanDisk software i just make folder and i moved on desktop then i format with rufus Fat32 i have 120gb then i plug USB on pc to put files autobleem then put ps1 classic made buck up then i plug to pc again i put 30 ps1 on folder games then I put on ps1 and doesn't recognise not even the autobleem run again on my playstation Classic anyone thoughts 😢 why didn't read usb when I plug and i put pc its recognised no problem at all only on ps now doesn't

Not every hub works at all. And of course, I am talking about AC powered hubs. Not all work. I bought a really nice one. 7 port. Lots of power. Plugged into the wall. To the second port on PS classic. And nothing. Ended up doing the power mod. Now any USB or external HDD works lol. Your best option people is to do the power mod. Super easy. I'm a complete noob at touching stuff, and I did this with a conductive pen in 2 minutes. Be... very... careful though.

Couple questions. Where did you go to get the extra game/games you added yourself like Ace Combat? Did you download it somewhere else and put it on the memory or is it part of the mod file? And lastly, once the mod is loaded from the USB stick? Can I reboot the PS Classic with the new games without the USB so that I can play with 2 controllers?

He's legally not going to be able to tell you where to get the games, but it shouldn't be difficult with a Google search. If you follow the instructions he gives, it sets up the back USB port so that you can put in an OTG (which is like a Y splitter that will let you plug in both the power USB cord and the USB drive), doing that, both front USB ports will be open for controllers. If you need a suggestion on which OTG to buy, he put the link to the one he has in the description.

Hey Restalgia, love the videos! Any idea why some games launched from the Autobleem launcher(without RA) causing the D-Pad to be disabled on the stock PSC controller? I am able to launch the games with RA and they work...but annoying so far. Running 1.0/Kernel not flashed currently.

A few things I wanted to mention, the TUSITA otg cable you have recommended in description seems to have changed (or Amazon is making mistakes) but they keep sending a knockoff brand called SUYAMA when you order. I got two of those SUYAMA now because they sent a replacement and it was the exact same one. To top it off one of them flat out doesnt work and the other one has a weird interaction where when I click the power button, it first loads up normally all the way, then I have to click the power button again and it will enter Autobleem. Is this normal for otg cables or is it just a faulty cable? In any case it might be worth looking into and potentially changing the recommended link to something else if TUSITA changed their standard. Last thing you would want is promoting scammers

Yep. I too just fell victim to this scam and was directed to the SUMAYA otg adaptor which does not work.

When you flash the ps1 and are able to use a bigger drive via otg do you just transfer everything from the smaller usb to the other one or how does that work?

Correct, you can use any size drive after. Some people are using 1tb hard drives. As long as its connected to OTG, you are okay from a power requirement perspective

I bought a usb stick off of Etsy with PlayStation one games since I couldn’t figure out how to do it and couple months later bought another one with different games than the first one. My question is this can you plug multiple usb sticks to the otg cable(if they have a 3 port slot available) and still play off of both usb drive?

Sorry man I appreciate the work thats went into all these videos you've made and I've watched so many of them to try and answer this without having to ask you but here goes. Currently on my PSC I have autobleem installed, I don't want it anymore, I want to install project eris. Problem is I have the kernel exploit I installed way back in the bleemsync days. What do I need to do to get project eris up and running on my PSC? Do I need to remove the kernel exploit or can I just remove autobleem and install project eris? Thanks man

Did you install the autobleem kernel? I assume not if you never removed the bleemsync kernel still on it. Best practice would be to uninstall the bleemsync kernel which I made a video about, and reinstall PE from scratch. You can just use the bleemsync kernel for proj3ct eris though, and it's as simple as creating a new usb drivem. I personally have a build for both and bounce between them

I'm using the exact usb and otg adapter you recommended in the description and after flashing the kernel and connecting the usb drive to the back via otg the playstation doesn't read anything and boots as if no drives are inserted.

After reading further comments I realized the amazon link for the otg adapter takes you to the right place but the seller sends you an off-brand knockoff of the otg adapter that does not work. You need to update this link. People are being scammed by a fraudulent amazon seller by following this one.

not sure if i missed something, but it seems that even after flashing the kernel it boots normally unless the USB drive is plugged into slot 2

Does anyone else have bad input latency with this setup? I have noticable input delay for SNES emulation. It's not my TV because games running throught Switch Online SNES emulator play fine.

No mention of the .m3u file that has to be created to run multi disk PS! roms. Also, no mention of the Bios files also needed to run PS1 roms? Or have they changed things in Autobleem 1.0?

So I used this mod to make my ps classic a big emulator with more games. It has worked fine for months until now. The PlayStation classic still blinks as if it's taking the mod but it just goes to the stock boot. I've checked the SanDisk and everything is still running fine. What could be the problem?

All of my rips from my cds are .bin and .cue. So for them, would u recommend just keeping them together in a folder named after the game and dropping that folder in the games folder? There wasn’t really that much detail on that. Will these games have the meta data like the other file you dropped into the game folder?

I followed your step by step instructions. But, when I came to backing up the kernel, my setup wont reach completion. When I try to flush, it would tell me, that "kernel backup not valid", something like that. Appreciate your help.

I have problems with my PSX mini :( I don't know what I have done but I guess I have touched some internal file (not with this tutorial) and now it doesn't start with Pendrive and without pendrive. The screen says "failed to load data, Error 001-001" and I can't do anything else. It doesn't even connect via FTP. Do you know of any way to restore the internal files to their factory state? S**it, I never made a backup of my Kernel, lucky for me is working... Can I do it now? Can I download it? Also, can you recommend a google Bluetooth dongle and some controllers? I hate that the ones that came with the PS Classic don't have joysticks.

You were not clear what happens after you start to flash the kernel and how long that should take. I have a flashing green light on the front. I'll wait 10 mins and power cycle it because you mentioned it came up to a black screen and you had to do that. That part is critical to be done right so I don't brick this.

This doesnt work for me.. I couldnt purchase the recommended USBS due to them being unavailable but Ive purchased a sandisk cruzer 32gb instead of the 64gb recommended but its still not working when I boot up the ps1 I get no autobleem screen is there really a difference between 64 and 32 gb causing it to not work?
