The Beginner Woodcarving series finally hits on my specialty - figure carving. We're keeping it simple to start with with this cute little bird figure, carved from basswood. Love this. I have quite a lot of 25mm x 25mm basswood and limewood. I'm going to see if I can scsle it down. I'm fairly new to this and like yiur style and presentation. Would love to see a few more tutorials.

Brilliant thank you. I'm making a dip pen and intend to carve a robin on the top of the finial. This is the perfect design. Now I've got to work out how I'm going to carve it in a 22mm cube.

Fantastic video thanks for showing every step so clearly. Is there anything wrong in just a layer or two of wax furniture polish as a sealant. I used to use that on my pyrography. Im senitive to smells and spray varnish is too much for me.

Protective tape for my fingers to prevent cuts. Sometimes called friction tape. There's a link in the video description
