A comparison between the table top penetrometer and the hand-held penetrometer both meant for determining the penetration resistance of a composite. ASTM C 403 is specially geared towards concrete and the hand held penetrometer can be used to connect the laboratory discerned data to operational values. Using both is great for characterizing the quality of the concrete coming down the chute to the same mix in laboratory environment.
