You’re just a joy to watch,the finish round the radiator looked excellent it’s also good to see you cutting your top and bottom and down the door frames using your papering shears that’s proper old school decorating as everybody just uses a blade for every cut now,but yeah another good informative video 👍🏻

If your emulsioning anyway.id always peice the centre bit in and just measure the space between each bracket.snd usually stick a couple of coins folded inside the paper to help weight it all the way down to the skirting boards then trim .then just hang the paper either side of the bracket .give it a try .its alot easier in my opinion and still looks tidy.i do alot of my finishing papering this way to.hardly ever do I get a chance to paper with a radiator off.oh and just use a rad roller to smooth down

Great job and good old style methods .but a small trimming knife would save you a lot of time behind that radiator .but everybody to their own still a top class job

Lovely job. Just wondering for example a light switch in the middle of the lining paper on a long wall. Would you lay the paper over it,complete the length and smooth it over the wall then come back to do the trimming round the switch or trim the switch first before finishing laying the length of paper to the wall as pinning a lot of folded lining paper to a wall due to the weight may be an issue? Hope this makes sense. Thanks. Marc

Love your video's, they have really helped me. I have removed old wallpaper and am concidering putting lining paper up but not sure, so may just paint the walls for now. Are there any issues on putting lining paper over painted walls? Maybe next year I'll do lining paper, will it make it a pain to prepare?
@PaintingandDecorating6 жыл бұрын
No, not really as long as you get the preparation right. Remove old paste very important then seal the wall and paint with a washable matt. Then you should have no problem lining over when needed.

Painting and Decorating When you say to seal the wall is that with the PVA?
@PaintingandDecorating6 жыл бұрын
Yes, always dilute 75% water never use waterproof PVA. Regular PVA

Hi, if you're going you paint the lining paper does it matter if its hung vertically or horizontally?
@PaintingandDecorating5 жыл бұрын
No. But if you ever put wallpaper on in the future you can get joints lifting on the lining which then allows the finish paper to lift. If you line horizontal it eliminates this if ever paper over.
