The Catholic Church teaches that everyone has a Guardian Angel assigned to protect and defend them, and lead them along the path to heaven. How do we pay attention to our Guardian Angel and develop a relationship with them? Fr. Kauth, a priest of the Diocese of Charlotte, explains.

I love the fact that Father uses the word, “asking” … “ask” your guardian Angel. In other words don’t “tell” your guardian Angel what to do. I mean to say, the attitude of respect and reverence with which we approach them is also important. We remember that along with being our faithful protectors, they are mighty beings beyond our imagination.

NO one is alone... everyone has a Guardian Angel appointed at conception to you by GOD ! And that Angel is always and faithfully with you... even right now... whoever you are... wherever you are... always with you. Your Angel is a PERSON just like you. Your Angel has knowledge and feelings and is rational just like you. Your Angel knows the joy of God and wants strongly to share it with you. Your angel has the desire to serve you always. Your Angel is persistent and consistent to provide the very best for you. Your Angel is good and faithful. There to be with and protect and advise you.... To console you. Do everything in your power to know your Angel. Speak to your Angel.... Ask any good and needful favor of your Angel... Believe it... know it is true. Thanks be to God for giving your Angel to you... now and forever and ever.

Actually i read that our mother's guardian angel protects us in her womb. When we are born is when we are assigned a guardian angel.🙏🙏🙏😇

@@mangafq8 Our Guardian Angel comes to us when we are conceived. From the very instant God created that Angel ... the Angel had to answer the question: Will you serve my creature? .... ie..... You! Even though the person was not to be created for an untold time yet. And... while we are in our mothers womb it is a very real event that our Guardian Angel was right there along with Mom's Guardian Angel . Indeed we had the blessing and advantage of being directly present to two Angels .... who did then and still can communicate with each other... always will,

Isn’t it amazing that your guardian angel waited SO LONG just for you to be born to start watching over you? Imagine how excited they get when their human is born 😁They are so great and loyal

When I opened this, an ad came up about learning the name of your guardian angel. Yet Father taught that it is against Catholic teaching to name your guardian angel. Heads up!!

Student to student here, Learning what your angel's name is is different than us giving him a name that seems fitting from our perspective, Still, their name is actually what they are, so only God knows it, like He knows the names of the stars. It is surely a pride camo offense for us to tag him.No wonder the church has pronounced on this. Another warning is recalling the fallen angels & that they came from ALL the choirs of angels including those assigned as Guardians. If your original Guardian fell... he would have been replaced with a holy one...but both will have you in their cross hairs ... until [hopefully] you are sealed in heaven. So do you want 'something' giving you unsecured 'light' as to what his name is? Surely NOT

Very good.. it is nice to know that our Angel is our protector. This is the one time when God says it is okay to have a relationship or communication with a spiritual being and one of course that has been assigned to us personally. So to heck with ghost hunting or paranormal activities that so many are pursuing. Thank you Jesus.

@@LoneMyth did she say that ? And what is the problem if she asks her guardian angel to pray for her ? we all have guardian angels assigned from birth who are there to help us, so why shouldn't we ask them for help ?

@@lonelyberg1316 She shouldn't be asking for an angel to pray for her. She should be the one praying to God. Angels serve God no different than humans are supposed to. They do not serve humanity. In fact, angels are not involved with humans as it impedes our free will given by God. Having an angel assigned at birth to answer prayers or oversee our lives actually contradicts that free will. Also God states to not put anything else above him, therefore praying to or hoping an angel prays for you is placing too much idolatry on angels instead of God, a sin. Pray to God himself and ask for nothing more than guidance to get through life. God or angels will not make your life better. Free will prevents their intervention. We are supposed to have faith and accept living meek and poor lives with the promise of everlasting life after tribulation. Asking for an angel to pray for you is actually inviting in demons, as they are the ones who will answer, as only they are allowed to tempt and promise improved lives in order to trap you into sin. Don't fall for the trap

Loving the observable spiritual discernment safeguard Fr. Kauth is able to have with his Guardian. But I note he is a man wearing the mantle of Christ... hence likely has a Guardian of higher rank than myself as a layman. After all, my decisions / actions must effect fewer people spiritually than his... to say the least. Also there is the idea that if something is pleasing / in line with God's will, the enemy may try to block it. Sooo difference between blocking events is??? More clarification could be nice?

I've been calling my Guardian angel "Joseph" for a while now; and I don't think He would mind, even if he has a different name. Would God ever let the name of his beloved Step-Father be used in evil? I think not!

Fr Ripperger has a good y’all on KZfaq about guardian angels, highly recommend you check it out. The Church doesn’t recommend naming your guardian angel because naming something/someone implies having authority over it. It’s why Adam could name the animals and parents name their children. Angels are higher beings than us, so we should not name them.

Another reason is that we are not God; naming is not for us to do. It would be arrogant on our part and might come off as treating the angels as pets. St. Gemma Galgani and St. Padre Pio are two Saints I know of that were able to speak and see their guardian angels. It might be good to read more on that. Take care 🌻
