I have 38 piercings. 14 in each ear, daith included, 2 in each eyebrow, one in my tongue, 3 in my lip, one in each nipple. Everyone heals differently. You cannot go by what others say. All of mine healed at different times. Clean them when taking a bath and or shower. I use wound cleaner, soap and water. I've only turned my piercings while wet. never turn a new piercing while it's dry. Again. Healing time is different for everyone. Just keep an eye on it and clean it daily or twice a day if you have a dirty job. 🤘

Keloids and piercing bumps are totally different things. If your bump went away on its own, it was NOT a keloid. Keloids can not be "drained" because it is just scar tissue and must be removed by a doctor.

Hey Leah, back again because piercings are addictive. I have daith and conch done recently :-). I think you and I are almost the exact same when it comes to lobe and upper lobe. my 3rds finally calmed the F down with being sensitive. If anyone is here wondering why theirs is taking eons to heal, I was told, and maybe Leah too, that there could be thin layer of cartilage where the 3rd or 4th area is. It also has less blood flow, so it will naturally take a bit longer to heal. Everyone is different too.
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 5 жыл бұрын
Hello! You are exactly right everyone is different :) the third and fourth are just the beginning of where it starts turning to cartilage so they take a little longer than traditional lobe piercings. I have my daith, how do you like your conch piercing? I’ve considered getting it

wauu pewwe No, it means it was pierced in the wrong spot. It needs to go through the “sweet spot” (a thin piece of skin between your nose cartilage and the outer part of your nose). If done that way, it will heal within 6 to 8 weeks (it’s not fully healed then, but enough to flip and change the jewelry without pain or problems). If they pierce it wrong (through the cartilage) then it hurts like a b*tch and takes 6 to 8 months to heal.

Yes depending on where it is try not to touch it unless cleaning it for 2 -4 weeks. I recommend to help swelling and bacteria to use a warm compress and lightly hold it to the area to draw out any possible bacteria and to help with swelling. It’s so hard to not sleep on it I know! And it might be swollen for awhile just because of where it is but as long as you keep it clean it should be okay ☺️

My septum felt healed after a month. No discharge, no crusties, no tenderness and the piercing arleady loosened up quite nicely. Like it had always been there. I don't advice it but that's also when I could change the jewelry without a problem, and it didn't cause a problem, but I was definitely taking a risk. I was told it should take about two months minimum, that's probably with a small margin included. Yours took 7 months and you're advising people on how to heal their piecings fast? If you have so much trouble healing your piercings how can people even take you seriously? Got an eskimo less than a week ago, there was no inflammation. By now it already loosened up, tenderness is gone, discharge/crusties is almost gone. My advice is to leave the piercing alone for at least the first couple of months besides cleaning it with a saline solution twice a day and live a healthy lifestyle. There's no more you can do. Listen to your body and ignore the superstitions, because there are alot of them in the piercing community. From neilmed and jojoba oil to tea tree and other overpriced products shops will try to sell you. Your body heals as fast as it heals, the only way to heal faster is by being healthier; by staying calm, getting enough sleep, eating nutritious food and exercising. I don't know why I heal so fast, could be genetics, but I believe it's because I fast regularly. But that could be a superstition. It seems to help regulate my immune response. It actually cured my hayfever. Also not advicable, but I could stretch my ear up to 00g in 3 and half months, no problem.

Everyone’s body heals differently :) honestly when I made this video I was still pretty new to KZfaq and didn’t do a great job explaining what I meant by my septum took so long to heal. I would say within the first month it was alright but, it was not fully healed meaning it was tender if I banged it and it would have crusties that would make it hurt if I accidentally moved the piercing before cleaning it. I just got my ears pierced for the first time 3 weeks ago. They were pretty sensitive and irritated, and my parents told me to put vaseline on them after i cleaned them. Have to say it worked wonders! One feels like it could be healed completely, the other one is still slightly sensitive to touch, but its also the one that hurt a little more when it was pierced for some reason. But yeah, i highly recommend it. It also stopped them from bleeding, and i haven't had a problem with them since.

I don’t know about any other kind of piercing but I know for a fresh nostril piercing you’re supposed to twist it and move it around a bit when cleaning it so 1. It cleans it better and is therefore less likely to get infected and 2. It might take a little longer for it to heal, but in the end it will be easier to change jewelry so it’s worth it.

the main key is to no push the pircing thru, if u take it out to clean in, make sure u do it really slow and wiggle it thrue, if u dont your pircing end" the scru" part will iritate the wound/scar, like me I use pyrispet/antiseptic salve, too get the pircing thrue without irritating the open scar/wound, u will soon see that it will grow/heal much faster, alot of ppl just clean and then push the pircing thrue, and then its like restart, some get big bumps, some get all this kind of "non infected" things, and dont know why, this is bcuyz u push the pircing thrue too fast/rough/ slow and steady :) hope u find thius helpful, sorry for dysleksia and bag english

Sea salt has a negative effect on all of my piercings... 🤦🏿‍♀️ It makes the healing process longer and more painful for me. Now, I only use unscented antibacterial soap and water . I got ear lobe piercing about 10 months ago. After 6 month of having the piercing I was upset cause it never healed. I would do a sea salt soak but throughout the day I would always find a lot of dry blood around both piercing. The person who pierced my ear tried to change the earring to see if that helped but after months I noticed the same thing happening. Ohh and by the way I did them with the needle not the gun. But I decided to take them off because their was no sign of healing it would just get worse. My brother got his ear piercing and his healed good and all he said he did was run it under the water while taking a shower and move it up and down. I decided to get my ear pierced again 3 days ago and the the same thing as my brother and today I’m noticing a lot of dry blood around it again. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen again. Any recommendations of what I should do?

I suggest that if your piercing is infected or not healing that you shouldn't take it out because the hole is what drains the infection. I suggest that before you touch it you wash your hands and then use sea salt or saline solution and warm water to clean it. Also you should twist it around but not too frequently because it can mess will the healing process if you touch it too much

I am on piercing 29 and 3 to go on the next round. I keep adding on (i am 55). This is good advice. Less touching the better. I still put a cotton ball soaked in salt wash and lay the cotton on the piercing. It dries it out faster without adding and pressure, etc. turning is not a great idea like everyone used to tell me to do.

before my rant i need to point out that i am not coming at the uploader or anyone in particular i’ve been piercing for about 15 years and have learned a couple things a long the way *to say it lightly* that will help you in having a successful piercing /healing experience .. simple steps .. only use quality jewelry ex- titanium niobium or solid gold .. do not use surgical steel sterling silver or any sort of plated jewelry .. most all metals are high in nickel and your body is allergic to the nickel content in the metal and not necessarily the metal itself .. do NOT twist spin turn or move your piercings a piercing is meant to remain immobile during the healing process .. any piercing take between 4-6 months to fully heal sometimes a little more depending on the person or the placement of the jewelry .. ex if a piercing is done incorrectly causing the piercing to not lay properly it will take forever to heal or not heal at all .. ex- having a crooked helix piercing or a nostril piercing placed on the crease of the nose .. the crease of your nose is like the joint of your arm it’s the part of your nose that moves the most .. speaking chewing blowing your nose etc. will have your piercing moving constantly not to mention it’s a pain to change and most of the time is pierced way too high and or too far back a nostril piercing should be pierced just below the crease so it almost appears to be on the crease when the jewelry is in just not actually on the crease .. also .. don’t use or be pierced with nostril screws .. “L-shape” or straight nostril jewelry .. flat back treadless jewelry for nose and most parts of the ear are highly recommended most importantly .. with the exception of a septum , daith , and possibly a rook NEVER get pierced with a hoop a piercing needs to remain immobile during the healing process the less it moves the quicker it heals the more it moves the more likely you are for infection .. do you have animals??? because pet dander is one of the highest causes of infection .. you may not be allergic to the animal .. your sub-dermal tissue is though .. so make sure you sleep on clean linen .. do not let your pets sleep in your bed or get too close to your new piercing .. and if your piercing is on your head put your pillow up and away in a closet or drawer when you’re not using it .. NEVER use “tea tree” or any sort of oils on your piercings .. none of that should be used on an open wound .. tea tree oil is for scars not piercing aftercare .. also .. saline “wound wash” and sea salt water mixtures are the same thing .. the only difference is saline “wound wash” water is sterile inside that can and your home mixture is not .. so scratch that as well .. i agree with some of what is being said .. most of it being leave your piercings alone .. other than that having a ton of piercings doesn’t make you a pro .. and i know that she is not claiming to be one i’m only saying in general guys .. stop thinking you know it all stop going on forums and do not listen to your friends advice always consult with a reputable piercer not some fly by night scratcher shop or “kitchen magician” .. and if a piercing becomes infected in any way feel free to comment on my comment i have a million different effective techniques that will work for you .. and yes i strongly suggest not popping them with needles lol yes you’re right as a piercer that comment and most of what was said was making me cringe lol …respectfully the best way for a piercing to heal is by doing NOTHING .. L.I.T.H.A .. Leave It The Heck Alone with that said i truly respect this upload and am looking forward to viewing more of your content i hope that all is well and you’re staying safe .. peace. love. always.

@@g3nya24 Hey!… It could very well be the jewelry… You always want to make sure you are using titanium niobium or solid gold… Surgical steel sterling silver and all of that kind of jewelry is loaded with nickel your body is an allergic to the metal itself it’s allergic to the nickel content in the metal… I have seen a lot of issues with individuals getting bumps… Infections… Etc. due to face coverings this past year .. i google reputable shops in your area and see if any of them offer titanium jewelry .. it could help a great deal .. on top of that there is another trick you can try… There is a product called BC powder it’s powdered aspirin it comes in a blue and white box you can find it on the pain relief aisle of any pharmacy basically open the box take a packet out put some powder into a small dish cup or a bowl mix it with water into a thick paste and cake it on with a q-tip a little while before you go to sleep let it dry. go to sleep when you wake up in the morning just wash it off continue that every night religiously and i promise you will see a significant difference. and will take that swelling and bump down *if you’re home doing nothing then just leave it on all day* if you still see no change then simply go to a dermatologist and have them shoot the area with a Cortizone shot never take a piercing out of you suspect it could be infected or if it has any of those “bumps“ because if you take your jewelry out if there is any fluid inside of your piercing and the holes close up there is no room for that fluid to escape it sounds worse than it actually is definitely nothing to worry about… I know I’m all over the place lol… Another option would be to put two miniature straight barbells made of titanium in each of the piercings that will help your industrial piercing heal independently and quite possibly a lot quicker than if you only had the bar in Half of this I wrote half of this I talked to text lol I hope this helps message back if you have any other questions :)

For the people who get irritation when they switch out their jewellry. Here's how I fixed that for me (it worked for me so I'll share it just in case). First, you want to find an earring material that your piercing likes, for everyone I knew, it was either gold or silver. Then you keep that in, until all the irritation goes away. The next time you wear non-gold or non-silver jewellry, try not to keep it in for more than a day

I know guns can be dangerous, but i think it depends on the individual and also your systems healing process. I am deathly afraid of needles but i want a helix (or two.or three xd) SOOOOOOO much so i’ve done my research and i’ll do it later this month 😁💞 EDIT: i did a double helix, i’ve had it since october, it’s healing now but a little bump appeared..

I got my ear lobes pierced yesterday at Claire’s and they gave me a rapid healing aftercare solution that is meant to heal them in three weeks. Has anyone had an experience with this? Does it actually heal them quicker?
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! Unfortunately I’ve had four lobe piercings done at Claire’s before I did more research. All of the piercings healed but it took much longer because of how much the piercing gun harms your skin. Everyone is different and hopefully yours will go okay but if you ever decide to get more piercings I would advise you go to a professional piercer. I thought I was fine with the first three because at the time it was all I knew, the fourth was difficult and took even longer to heal. After that I started going to professionals and was amazed at how much better my piercings were. Even down to less swelling and soreness. Good luck with your piercings! Be extra careful with them and don’t forget to clean them regularly. Even at the 3 week point I would still be cautious. Hope this helps!

I got my septum piercing under a month ago, and I can't feel a sniff of pain anymore. I change, twist and flip it all the time. I started doing that by the first week, at least the flipping. I almost feel like doing it more prevented the pain. By now, all the pain is gone and as I said it has been under a month of healing. I do think it's always best to be on the safe side, but don't overreact! It probably won't take six whole months to heal. Just try things out for yourself. Don't listen to my or her tips. Every body works differently. You'll understand for yourself when you have the possibility to change and flip it:) Good luck with your piercings, everybody!
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 5 жыл бұрын
You are right, everyone heals differently but just because you are able to move and flip your piercings does not mean from a bodily perspective that it is healed even if there is no pain. For example, I have some piercings that feel absolutely fine in the first week but they are by no means healed. Also septum piercings range from person to person. Not everyone has a lot of flesh below the cartilage (the “sweet spot”) meaning that it might have to go through some cartilage which equals more piercing healing time. Lucky for some people the positioning for the septum piercing allows little pain and less healing difficulties :)

Honestly, sometimes cartilage piercings take a long time to heal. I had a few that even after a year they were sensitive but eventually they were okay. As for the keloid, is it hard to the touch or soft? In addition to the warm compress you might want to put some diluted tea tree oil on it. Also, have you considered the possibility of the jewelry itself being too tight or an allergic reaction?

Hello! I had a similar issue two years ago I had gotten into a situation where my cartilage piercings got pulled badly and they became swollen and irritated. I continued my warm sea salt solution twice daily and on top of that I applied a warm compress twice daily for at least five minutes to reduce the swelling. I knew that they were not infected, if they were then I would have gone to my piercer to see what to do. Long story short in my case they went back to normal in about a week. It hurt a lot but try not to touch them any more than just to clean them and keep an eye out for signs of infection. Hope this helps!

So now I only clean them once a day and they look/ feel so much better and look less irritated! Do you struggle to get earphones in with a daith and tragus in the same ear? I got my daith done a week ago and I now want a tragus in the same ear
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! At first it was a huge struggle! But now that they’re healed it’s not so bad. It’s a little strange at first because the headphone pushes against the daith piercing (which is why you should wait a few months because it could cause irritation to a new piercing) but you get used to it. The tragus is perfectly fine with ear buds it’s the daith that gets in the way a little bit. Hope this helps!

Got my septum done less than 2 weeks ago and I left it down, didn't mess with it and its already no longer sore. I didn't bother with the twice daily soaks, I'd just kinda splash warm water on my face in the shower.

I just got my frickin ears pierced at Claire's ill advised and it's been like 3 going on four days since I had them with no redness just sore, I've cleaned three times a day, am I safe from infection?

As long as you keep them clean and try not to mess with them too much infection isn’t probable but as with any new piercing it could happen. Good luck!

Uhm so my friend actually told me that I should maybe check out getting my ears pierced by an actual piercer and I told my mom and she was kinda against it and convinced me to get them done at a local jewelry store. I am now very scared that they will be awful. It's my first night, I'm really stressed out and I can't sleep.

a septum healing time is 6-8 weeks when it’s well done 😉 (cause it’s through the skin and not the cartilage)

Is it normal for there to be any discomfort when you take out your peircings for the first time? Idk if my peircings are healed or not. They are not getting infected or swelling even when i dont wash them but there is a slight discomfort when i try to take them out. The real question is are my peircings healed?
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 6 жыл бұрын
Yes it is normal, it is usually a sign that they are healed enough for you to take out the piercing but not quite 100% healed. When you have no discomfort that is when you know it is finally done healing. For example, I had my nose piercing for about four months and there was no swelling and it was “healed” however, when I tried to take it out it was very uncomfortable. I waited another month or so and tried again and was able to take it out with no discomfort. I like to wait until that point to change my piercings but it doesn’t mean that you can’t take them out as long as you have waited the proper amount of time that you were instructed to wait

@arielthemermaid3576

Madde Stevenson Lmao same, I just pierced mine on Saturday and my nose is still all swollen. I just boil 8 oz of water for 5-10 minutes and then mix in 1 tbsp of salt and 1 tsp of baking soda, then I let it cool a little and soak my piercing in it for 5-10 min. Soaking it gently removes the crust so you don’t have to pick at it, plus the salt helps with swelling and the baking soda kills germs. I only do this once a day at most though because the baking soda is strong and can irritate new piercings.

Hello! I would suggest doing sea salt soaks to try and clear whatever might be upsetting your piercing before removing the piercing and letting them heal. You could always go to a professional piercer and see what they think as well! You could also just be having an allergic reaction to the jewelry or you pulled it on something in your sleep. Good luck!

Y’all my tragus is like the love omg I can’t believe how smooth the aftercare & healing going I promise you not it’s about 50% healed & only 4 weeks old I understand anything can go wrong or the rest of %50 can go slow now but it’s a breeze I can move it without it burning or hurting I can put AirPods in without it hurting and swollen back up after taken them out i would say they is swollen but it never was not not swollen it’s been swollen since I got them not as much but slowly but surely it’s going down now my industrial ! Don’t get me started I got a piercing bump on all 4 holes now tiny barely can see them my left one because I got both pierced at the same time right along with both tragus the left one is putting my as* through the fire it burns so bad if I accidentally move it while cleaning it or just it moving itself my top ear is so sore motrin is a lifesaver right now ! It takes the pain completely away but once it wears off here comes the bs ! Motrin also takes the swollen down my right industrial got bump on both holes to but that one is not acting up nowhere near like the left one the right one is not giving me a problem compared to the left one I brought earring the day before the bumps appeared I was so irritated because I was gonna change it to a stud so it can heal quicker but y’all wound spray in the blue bottle and tee tree oil my little besties I regret getting both a st**id as* idea and nobody told me I was stu**d asf if I get two I should of been more informed I can’t blame nobody but me but it’s okay what’s done is done I love items though I wake up everyday looking forward to seeing my piercings I also got my second lobe 1 week ago thats just so sore to the touch no problems though (HOPEFULLY) it stays that way which I doubt the lobe will give me any problems

Help please. My 3rd and 4th lobe will just not heal. It's been 8months. :-( I tried everything from not touching it and not sleeping on it and just gentle SSS. And it would just get bumped from my braid hanging down. I also tried spinning it, but I see that also irritates it too, yet it makes the sea salt sol'n easier to get inside. How long did your upper lobes take to heal?
@LeahBlue
@LeahBlue 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! How did you get them pierced? With a gun or needle? I made the mistake of getting my first four done with a piercing gun (I was really young and misinformed) and the third and fourth took FOREVER to heal. I’m talking, it was close to a year later and they would be sore to the touch at times. Continue doing the SSS but I would say you are past the stage of having to rotate it if it is only making it worse, it may just need some time. You are hopefully past the point of infection but do keep an eye on it. I waited them out because they were not infected they just were stubborn healers. Piercings 5, 6, and 7 however I got done and cartilage heals much faster than lobe or upper lobe.

Hi, I got pierced with Hollow point needle at tattoo and piercing parlor. Very clean and sterile environment and certified piercer. She used the butterfly backing type stainless steel earring to start and I think dirt and skin just get caught in there. I'm happy to say that my 3rd and 4th lobes are nearly healed! I later got titanium put in and it took another gruling 3.5 months for them to clear up. The dry air was terrible for it too. I now use the soap and sea salt Q-tip it and they're doing great. I think I just am a slow healer because they get infected easily and that always prolongs healing time. I also wasn't doing enough in the beginning to clean them so they had trapped skin etc. My helix is also doing well. Thank you for the awesome vid. If anyone has struggling piercing questions (even lobes), please send them to me! I have probably been through it and have hope for them!

yes yes, I have Titanium 18g in and they still took 3-4 months to heal after that and using SSS. I found using the Q-tip to wipe around the piercing and mostly no-touch policy and using the soap in the shower before the cleaning really helped clear them up.

Girl, I know your pain! 3rd and 4th lobes don't get much blood flow. I also found that after I severely cut back on caffeine and made sure not to bump them or sleep on them and did really good cleaning without overcleaning were the answers to my healing. I also take 1000mg of vitamin C and zinc and did anti-inflammatory stuff. I think all of that combined helped.

I wouldn’t recommend the needle trick because keloid scars are just layers of skin they aren’t a pimple to drain or pop. Warm some water in a shot glass and add sea salt and soak ur nose piecing for 10-15 minutes. It’s inconvenient and awkward but it works. Then to speed the healing u can dab tea tree oil with a qtip and then as the day or days go by and consistently doing this u will see the bump peeling and u can take the layer of skin off with some tweezers. A keloid scar is just layers of skin and I swear by this method it works every time also if you’re constantly getting keloids when you are keeping your piercing clean maybe you need to switch your jewelry that’s what I had to do I changed my jewelry from silver to gold and I haven’t had a problem since. I hope this helps someone

I had gotten a nose piercing a month ago and I myself was messing with my nose piercing and it caused a bump on my nose it was also like a pimple and had used a non iodized sea salt and crushed up aspirin with a lil water to make a paste I left it on my bump over night I also did a sea salt soak for 5 min twice a day and my bump finally popped on it’s own in I believe a week and a few days but remember everyone is different and after it popped I still did the non idolized sea salt soak twice a day then I apply tea tree oil on at night instead of the crushed up aspirin and sea salt paste
