Best tutorial for blind hem. You actually slow down at the folding step which was the hardest part for me. Everyone just focuses on the stitch. Had to go through 5-6 videos till I got to this one. Thanks so much!

I have to say, I am over 50 years old and have NEVER hemmed my own pants! My mother always still did this for me -- it was like magic. I never knew how she did it. She passed away last year and I've been struggling with too long hems. Now I know how it's done, I'm going to show my daughters and granddaughters how to do this. Thank you for the easy step-by-step instructions!!

Great video. Could learn so well by your instructions. Now I am going to blind hem all of my new curtains. I can do all my dresses and hem bottom of pants as well. Never understood the last step of fold. You explained it so slowly and clearly. Thank you.

I do blind hem so infrequently I always forget how to fold it. This is the best tutorial on blind hem I've seen!

It’s so helpful to see this on an actual pair of pants instead of a small sample scrap of fabric, the last folding back with right sides together is the confusing bit. I get it now! Thanks 🤗

Thank you! I just hemmed my own pants (48 year-old male). My old Bernina does not have a hem setting, so I made 5 straight stitches, moved the needle over, made one stitch, moved it back, and so on.

There are two things about the video that I especially appreciate. 1) You go into detail about what the blind hem stitch is all about. 2) You do not force the viewer to watch the repetitive and dull portions that are not essential to learning how to sew the hem. "Saved my Bootay!" I just bought my first sewing machine a Viking C10 on ebay. My friend asked me to get rid of the cuffs on his dress pants, I thought it would just be a flip of the cuff, couple of stiches and done. Not quite that easy. Thank you for this video! The pants you used are almost the same as my friend's and your foot is exactly the same as mine! After I got the foot adjusted to the width of the stitch and the stitch length adjusted it went perfect! I think I broke the world record for the most pins used in a hem!

Thanks for a fantastic tutorial. The speed you teach at was perfect for me. I could stop in sections and I really appreciated you showing the actual stitch as I was using a machine, I wasn’t familiar with. Also the tucking under of the hem was well demonstrated. Hubby’s slacks are beautifully hemmed for a special occasion.

Yes, thank you for demonstrating on actual pants. I went through several videos and found no one using actual pants, just flat fabric as the previous comment stated which for a beginner made the instruction confusing! I found yours and in minutes I got it! Your instruction was superior!!!

Thank you Dominica! Your video is very detailed (that's what all beginners appreciate). I like your handy list of all the steps involved, including links to these parts. What I love best are your many lose up view to really see what is going on while folding, pinning. and sowing. And thank you for going through the trouble to sow one half of one pant leg in a different color. It really helps to understand the stitch. I want to try to shorten a pair of corduroy pants and am pretty sure my needle will break :-) The triple fold part right now seems to be 1/2 inch thick! I would not have even attempted to try without your nice video. Many, many thanks!

I learned how to do a blind stitch from my mom when I was a teenager back in the 80’s. I have done it so infrequently since then and I’m always befuddled with the folding to the point I end up pinning and re-pinning a dozen times before I finally get it right. We just spent a LOT of money on a nice suit for my husband to wear to a very important interview. I was feeling nervous about putting the hem in these very expensive pants. We couldn’t afford for me to screw it up. I found your tutorial and I followed your instructions to the letter. The pants turned out PERFECT! Thank you SO MUCH!!

This is the best to tutorial that I have seen on the blind hem stitching. You go very slow and explain it thoroughly and on actual pants. I had to keep stopping and rewinding it so I could get the proper direction of the fold right. It's the closest thing to you being here and showing me:)
