One thing I think is worth mentioning, is using teflon tape to connect all of your fittings.

Thank you so much! I was struggling to figure out how to get my airbrush connected to my Fortress, and this was perfectly straightforward. I managed to find the piece at my local Home Depot and now I'm off to the races!

Thank you! The only thing I was missing was the 1/4" coupler for my Fortress but I was able to grab one at Home Depot this morning. I appreciate your easy to follow walkthrough.

Have the original badger 150.( older than my kids by a decade) I recently bought the creos ps 290 along with masters 10' hos3 and grex coupler. Hose has 1/8" female on each end. There was never any mention of the bsp fitting type being used before purchasing. How frustrating. Tried finding reducer coupling for my old d500 compressor to the new hose. That would be a 1/8" bsp × 1/4". Impossible to find.

Good video. A minor note: NPT and BSP don't have quite the same thread pitches. If there's a washer in the female fittings the difference is too small to matter much but 1/8" NPT is 27tpi whereas 1/8" BSP is 28tpi, and 1/4" NPT is 18tpi whereas 1/4" BSP is 19tpi.

Question? I purchased the badger 105 patriot and had to get an adapter to iwata size. Im using hand held battery powered usb airbrush gun. Tried using it last night for first time and noticed its acting like a single action gun When i press trigger for air only paint comes out like its a single action gun. Im a newbie not sure what im doing wrong? Help please?

Jim, it sounds like your needle is not seated all the way into your nozzle. Loosen your needle nut and push the needle all the way forward. If that does not work. Make sure there is no dried paint in the nozzle, preventing the needle from seating properly. Hope this helps.

Does the Fortress not need a moisture trap?

You can run one if you like. I do not. I have water trap's up at my brushes, and I never get a drop of water in them, but I have them for extra protection

Depends on your application if your work is moisture sensitive then yes.

It's my understanding that NPT and BSP do not go together. Am I wrong?

You are correct. NPT is a tapered thread with no O-ring and BSP is a straight thread with an O-ring or washer. BSPT is also tapered buy not normally used with airbrushes.

This video misses a very important point. NPT is a tapered thread with no O-ring and BSP is a straight thread with an O-ring or washer. I have not been able to find a 1/8" BSP x 1/4" NPT fitting at Lowes or Home Depot. I did find it on Amazon - two for $9.

@@TheAirbrushGarage Yes in the US for the average application the Imperial standard is used (In./ft.) For more technical or where accuracy is involved Metric is preferred. Personally I prefer my tools in Metric, it's just easier. The Imperial system is clunky and unwieldy. I have a set of sockets that are in SAE and Metric I always prefer the Metric if I can.
