Great info and content. Your channel and Roller Pigeon Evolution imo are the most informative channels in the hobby.

I think you have a very sound idea if what your "Ideal Roller" is and you have let those "ideals " be the factor that drives your Selection for further stock, nice job for sure in my opinion

Hey brother. I'm (relatively) young guy looking to get started with pidgeons. How many birds do I need to get started? Do they need to be from different families? Do I need to get new blood into the family eventually? Thank you
@l.o.r4104 жыл бұрын
When you’re done breeding a bird, does it go back into your kit to fly or do you just breed it throughout its life? Also, some people stock straight from the nest. Do you buy into that theory? Or it’s never a guarantee and that you have to fly the squabs to actually know if it’s a good bird. Just some questions I want to know and probably others also. Thanks. Awesome video and insights!
@hidefpigeons91114 жыл бұрын
When I started to develop my family I did breed from kit birds and put them back in the kit with their baby’s the ones to prove them self flying next to their kids were pulled back in to become permanent breeders to never fly again. Ive never stocked from the nest in the last 8 years till last season I need to birds that were made to become breeders and at this point I feel like I can stock certain birds from the nest but it’s something I don’t do I like to fly in all my birds.

why not a FOUNDATION hen?
@hidefpigeons91114 жыл бұрын
There are 5 hens I bred to my foundation cock to build my family then I used 2 of the original hens that bred back to the sons of the foundation cock. I would consider them the foundation hens but because I haven’t bred a lot towards their side as much as I would like to I haven’t chosen which one of the hens will be the foundation of the future.

You can only identify a good Birmingham Roller by looking up in the air bro.
