I always love going thru the thrift shop and finding a vintage Polo piece. It's rare where I'm at, except for normal Pony shirts. Also love finding Polo at Ross, TJ Maxx etc.

I work as a stock associate for one of the Polo Ralph Lauren factory stores and for a few months I have noticed new inventory, mainly Polo shirts of novelty design, that sport the older tag with the navy and white boxed Polo logo just like the older shirts I still own of the Polo Ralph Lauren brand. The separate clothings tag doesn’t show the blue with the yellow slim typefont design like the usual ones, instead representing how the more classic style as shown in the attached tag while having the new printed layout to represent the UPC and so on. Their most distinct detail is the fact they still have the QR code to verify the legitimacy.

Otherwise, this video was super informative in customizing out my current wardrobe ignoring that small discrepancy I noticed as a result of a recent regarding their brand change that started slowly since this new year. I like that you have some of the actual clothing to compare on the rack though it would’ve been cool to also see how much these longer worn pieces can be selling upto because of their historic significance towards Ralph Lauren as a fashion designer.

@@jracerichardsDepends if it’s the _Navy_ Blue tag with the boxed Polo that’s followed off with “by Ralph Lauren”, does it say the country of origin on the side of the size letter or at the bottom where it’d usually otherwise denote whether if it’s a Classic or Slim Fit? Polo shirts from before early-to-mid 2010s used to have a special tag when purchased new saying in verbatim that the garment was expertly sewn to shrink down to the intended size when washed in laundry hence that style is now referred to as Classic Fit. If it doesn’t have that PO# tag as shown in the video neither, then it can easily be from the late 90s which makes it a true vintage.

@@damian9303 There a single Blue rectangular tag with the Polo boxed with by Ralph Lauren under that . Under that it says Made in Sri Lanka .On the right side of the tag it says M/M which is the size .The r n number is 41381

Hi, thank you for the video. I just recently purchased a Ralph Lauren v neck jumper and it has the tag ‘Ralph Lauren Sport’. The stitching of the mallet the horse rider holds seems a bit off. I’m wondering if it’s fake or the line was just discontinued. I can’t find any info about it online.

I have some shirt with a single tag but what does the letter or letter nunber combo behind the care tag mean? For instance i have one that says MW9 and another with just a W. Feels random but in sure it means something.

For now on I'm gonna check to see if you have a vid on a certain brand before seeking info on it anywhere else! I just wish I saw this before I spent all that time searching for info on this Polo Ski Bear 2 button Polo. I do have one question though... can 'Made In Northern Mariana Islands' be used to date Polo Ralph Lauren items? I feel like there was a big labor dispute there around 99-early 00s. But idk if they continued to manufacture there after that.🤷

Glad to be able to help! I think you could, but I'm not entirely sure that they never produced there again. I remember there being some controversy about labeling products made there "Made in USA" as they are technically a USA commonwealth. I'll look into it. Thanks!

I found an old razor that has a Ralph Lauren Crest stamped on the end of the handle. It has two lions on either side, the "R" & "L" cursive style letters in the center and the banner at the bottom has "Ralph Lauren" in it. Any help with info on this would be appreciated.

I have a pair of ralph lauren polo jeans company speedway hayden jeans that I'm trying to find info on. I've been able to find info on speedway jeans but not this particular model. They were produced in mexico, only have one tag, and are button fly. They also have a bit of intentional distressing. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Hello, I have a green collard shirt with number 3 on sleeve and large USA in orange color across the front looks like a patch with large pony above it. The label is blue but it reads - Ralph Lauren with no horse or word polo on it. When do you think this was made? I do not see any labels like this. Are you familiar?

Hey I’m trying to find some information about a Chaps by Ralph Lauren sport coat I found. It’s got a white tag with a western font reading “CHAPS by Ralph Lauren” 100% wool with woven buttons. I’ve only seen one similar tag on Etsy so I’m trying to figure out what year it’s from. Do you have any idea?

American companies had been manufacturing in Hong Kong for a while. Ralph Lauren had been for some time, so It's hard to use that as a date marker.

I've have a couple vintage-looking polo by ralph lauren & polo country. They have Care tags on the front of the button up shirt under lowest button. Was that a thing? They are a pretty rugged material.

I found a cardigan recently that says "Ralph Lauren Sport" on the tag. It's a women's red wool blend cardigan. I can't find any information on the "Ralph Lauren Sport". Is this the same as Polo Sport? Or do you know what era it's from? Thanks!

It isn't the same as polo sport. Far as I've been able to tell it's a line that occurred a few years after Polo Sport shut down.

I found a rather interesting harrington jacket from Ralph Lauren but I can't find other information regarding it. Do you, by any chance, have an information regarding the "Ralph Lauren Polo Sportsman (Suppliers of Quality Outdoor Apparel)"? It has an embroidered logo of two flying ducks instead of the usual Ralph Lauren logo (man on a horse). It is also made in Singapore which is kind of rare as I don't usually see any RL made in Singapore. Also, it doesn't have a wash tag inside.

I used to work for Ralph Lauren (1994-1997). The " Gold Dot" just means it was an item sold at a Ralph Lauren Factory Outlet or a discount clothing store (TJ Maxx, Symm's, Stein Mart, Burlington Coat Factory, etc.) Often it would be items returned from Major Dept. Stores or Specialty Stores to the RL distribution warehouse (because it did not sell) and then redistributed to discount or outlet retailers. This also includes RL second quality items, where the sizing or measurements may be a bit off.

I have a turtle neck knit with POLO JEANS COMPANY across the chest. It only has one old tag on the inside, at the hip, not the neck which says: 95% Acrylic, 5% Lycra MADE IN E.C.C and has 4 wash instruction icons. Is this most likely fake?

Most of the time I just use some of the methods in the video, but sometimes there isn't a way to be really specific on a date. You just have to get a general range or era from the methods discussed in the video. Thanks!
