In this video I will tell you how to improve your pronunciation, how to make your accent better and how to stop being afraid of speaking with your native accent. My name is Kate, I was born and raised in Russia and I’ve never been to the United States. American accent has been a passion of mine for many years, and I learned English on my own, watching movies, TV shows and a lot of video lessons.
Now I'm working on my Master's degree in Linguistics and my goal is to become a qualified teacher.
American accent has a lot of varieties and in this video, I try to focus on the most standard neutral American accent that we often hear in American movies and TV shows. I started working on my English pronunciation when I was 15: I practiced both British accent and American accent at the same time. Now I learned English up to C1 Level and my focus is helping people improve their language skills.
I recommend listen and mimic the way native speakers speak, and there are some tips that help you to sound more naturally and confidently.
