bro tysm, i had made an obby with the massive walls to cover up all the rooms u teleport to (i cant explain well lol) so a lot of the rooms made it pitch black in the other rooms below it/next to it, then realised it was cuz I made the roofs themselves a whole light and not an actual light that lit the rooms 💀 super helpful video dude

To fix the light clipping problem for changing time, go to lighting settings and turn outside ambient or whatever its called to black. And you good!

i do mostly indoor stuff so what i do is instead of making a second roof layer, i set the skybox to black, set time to 0, turn off celestial bodies, set all coloured global lighting settings to black, set shadow softness to 0.1, lighting brightness to 0, and global shadows on.

As a certified Pro builder (self proclaimed) I approve of this. I especially approve to the textures being fated by light as I see many people using image which are not affected by light. Roofs do work better than making it night as night still has a bit of light. I used these methods in most of my obbies. Though as a more complex and in depth analysis on the texture light affect thing , as a texture creates a shadow , you can place it infront of a light block with the texture facing the light , giving more options to how the light looks , this could be useful in many occasions. Touching on outdoor lighting would have been useful for beginners too as the sunlight can create very atmospheric scenes in some obbies as setting the sun using different times with advanced tools can make different feelings such as the sunset , a bright sunny day or a dark gloomy day which could be made using skyboxes as each skybox produces different light. Overall this was a very good tutorial on lighting! - from dan , a very kewl pro yes who was nominated for build battle quality thrice mhm

0:22 my friends always do this. 1:13 I have a samsung and the only difference between max and low graphics is the FPS. 1:57 light clipping is very common if you're making horror and I always add a second roof. 2:32 this is slightly unefficient, but you can try. Another note: got a PC, apparently shadows on/off is basically: Shadows on: acts like a regular light Shadows off: doesn't stop at obstacles

I was looking for a resolve for another issue and found this, this was useful however I never found a solution to make like example I make 2 big, long rooms so big and long till I gotta make it above the other room but then the room below it gets the above shadow but maybe you got a solution or by adding lightings it will fix it. also, I'm broke so I also can't afford advanced tools :(
