I learn cursive in school it's still ugly tho....😟😟

I love how you structured these tips and demonstrated how to practice. A lot of videos I've come across have all been rather all over the place and not well thought out. These are all pretty common sense but having something like this to be a guide helps immensely. Also, instead of printing out a ton of practice paper, get a pad of grided paper. It's not solid then dotted lines, but it works just as well if not better as it also helps with spacing and you're not forced to write as big.

It is actually pretty weird for me to be watching this video because I am Brazilian and here EVERYONE is taught to write in cursive in pre-school and most of us also learn calligraphy. Like I am seriously surprised that it is so hard for you guys to write in cursive! Good luck!

I watched this video for the first time about a year ago. Before watching, my writing was neat and joined up but not cursive. Within a few days, I could write slowly in cursive at school but I kept my print outs with me for a little bit of a push. Now, I write fluently in cursive 100% of the time and I am very happy with my handwriting. Thank you so much, Noelle! You're the best. Xxx

There is another kind of paper special for actual calligraphy that has two lines closer together instead of on the middle, also remember that cursive is supposed to lean to the right, not just straight.

You need to remember that you tilt your paper for cursive. You should also hold your paper with your non-writing hand. Cursive is not meant to be vertical.

I had to learn cursive in first grade. I stayed at the same school all throughout elementary school and at that school, you had to write EVERYTHING in cursive. If it wasn't in cursive you had to rewrite it. After five years of writing in cursive, it still looks awful. Since I had to write everything in cursive it became a habit. If I started writing in print it would gradually become cursive and whatever I was writing started in cursive and ended in print. One of my friends that went to same the elementary school as I did for all 5 years also had that habit. Thankfully the school I go to now doesn't make you write in cursive.

This is actually a little bit sad to me. Not in terms of, "wow this is sad," as in pathetic, I mean that it's literally kind of sad that people today are having trouble writing and reading cursive, when cursive was the primary way of writing back then. I write in cursive all the time and get compliments on my writing, but that's because my old school would force us to write _everything_ in cursive _all the time._ I used to get shocked when I'd write in cursive and someone would tell me they couldn't read it _because_ it's cursive. Like, are we even going to have signatures anymore or...? Or does it even matter anymore lol

I was taught cursive in kindergarten all the way up to third grade. I stopped getting taught it because I moved to another state that did not teach cursive. When I got to middle school I started to really like writing all my notes in cursive. All the kids in my school obsessed over my handwriting. I had no idea it was so hard to write in cursive because no one knew how to and if they tried it was very bad. I ended up teaching a close Friend some cursive and she learnt the rest on her own and became really good. Now it's me and my friend that keep on getting asked how to write such good cursive lol. Here are my tips to learning cursive: Start by learning the basics. Once you know each letter and is able to write them even if it is pretty bad, keep on practicing on each of them. How my friend practiced was by writing in cursive when she was writing things she would only read. After you feel like you are somewhat comfortable with writing with all of the letters(meaning other people can clearly read what you are writing) then you can develop your own ways of writing a certain letter. It's fun to make your own cursive version of the letters! You start off by just adding extra twirls or swirls, then you'll end up having it turned into your own design eventually! The. In the end you can start writing your school work in cursive and making your teachers very impressed!

I've been practicing my cursive recently whenever I have the time. So far I've improved my s, d, b, and z. I prefer writing without the kindergarten lined paper, and writing out my letters in a list. Much like a paper folding in half vertically, and I'll print out the letters on the left, then in cursive on the right. It helps me see what I need to work on and what I'm doing well.

You wrote z like it`s russian letter "з". It has the similar sound but different shape :)

I've never seen that paper 😂😂😂 where I live we have something called "double line notebooks" (that's translated from the actual name in spanish) that are used in the first years of elementary. The purpose is the same, but the lines are much closer to each other, you don't have to write like you're making a poster, so going from that to normal lined notebooks is easier.

Actually here in Puerto Rico I remember when I was in kindergarten, 2nd, 4th and 5th grade our spanish teacher made us write cursive everything the whole year and in english class one of the subjects was to write in cursive too... My cursive is not the best, and I really love my mom and grandma handwritting, but yeah...

what i did is get a reguler purble notebook 70 sheets the i got a compsision book with spiral with the cursive letters at the begginning when you open it i cut it out then glued it on the notebook it helped me a lot

I stopped learning cursive in third grade and I only ever learned it because I went to Catholic school and they are smart there and teach it

My country cursive is completely the same as the printed one you know the paper printed but I kinda change it a little like the G I F T S XD but the E is different in ours and the small one is the same I’ll copy the printed paper (if I can) Memories each of them Edit: The X too....

They teach cursive in primary schools in the UK. Well they do were I do work experience, and they do at my little sister's school, but it is simple 'cursive' and to be honest, the 5 year olds are better than me at it

I’ve started watching your videos lately and girl , you need to stop trying to be so humble and stop talking bad about your work . Your cursive , your drawings etc are all soooo cute and literally goals . Instead of saying how bad they are , if you feel they aren’t the best just say that , but don’t down talk yourself . Why am I the only person who writes in cursive all the time? Honestly I love writing in the non cursive script, yalls are blessed.

My teacher as a child had a trick too. She took the time to write in a notebook of kids short stories. She prob. filled half the book and had me trace over it. Really improved mine!

I'm italian, and here in the elementary school teachers are very serius about the corsive. When I was at the elementary school I had to practise every day! But now I have a fantastic corsive. (Excuse me if I did some mistakes, I'm learning english)

I used to be amazing at cursive, until I moved to the UK in grade 3, and 8 year old me saw everyone else writing in normal font, so I tried so hard to write in normal, and I did it I somehow by looking at some letters at the front wall which is showcased. Aaaand now my handwriting is a mess, trying to learn again

In elementary school once we learned cursive that was the only accepted way to write. Everything had to be done in cursive. Then I moved to Texas and none of my friends could write in cursive and they definitely can’t read it. I’m good at both print and cursive and sometimes I switch between both when taking notes. I mainly write in print bc no one uses cursive but I like cursive way better.
