Material Focus is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that aims to increase electrical recycling through partnerships with shops and local authorities, and by inspiring people to recycle through raising awareness and generating insights that help overcome barriers to recycling. They partnered with DataKind UK to gain a deeper understanding of what would really make an impact when it comes to people's recycling habits, and are now running a series of national multimedia campaigns. Two of DataKind UK's expert, pro bono data scientist community will present the data applications and approaches that helped Material Focus to move the needle on recycling in the UK.
