I have a question hoping somebody can clarify for me. I’m still Active duty currently going through a Med Board. They gave me a sheet to fill out and told me list anything I wanted to claim. I looked at all my diagnoses and listed them all. I am now currently attending C&P exams. My question is where did I drop the ball in claiming certain things as primary and secondary? I feel like it was supposed to be on the document I filled out with all my claims but there was no clear way to claim primary or secondary?

They will separate out your secondary claims. Just file a claim for everything you have a diagnosis for now. Tell your examiner everything that is related to injuries. Doesn't matter how dumb it might sound. They need to see the whole picture

I've just been denied Migraines secondary to Tinnitus, however, I was wrong and it turns out the migraines are secondary to my SC TMD. Can I make a new claim as Migraines secondary to TMJ/TMD?

My son is active duty and will be starting his transition to civilian soon. When goes to file his initial VA claim before exiting the military, will he need to track down his medical records for the treatments he’s received from military doctors? Or are those stored digitally and transmitted automatically to the VA? Thanks for the great vids! So helpful!

Hello, Veteran here.... ALWAYS GET A COPY. Most branches will provide a disc with all information, all appointments and visits. Even though everything is digital now a days, and the VA has a copy. I have heard waiting on the VA to release those files could affect the process, or some things could be misplaced. So make sure to get a copy, and submit such with the original claim!!

Hello, your son's medical records should all be digitized. As far as I understand the military uses several systems to maintain medical records (HAIMS and AHLTA mainly). If your son was active duty someone at his prior base (medical facility - most precisely Medical Records) SHOULD have access to those records and they should be able to provide him a free copy of it (provided he hasn't requested these records multiple times then they might actually charge him). I would recommend that he download all of his personnel records as well (this includes DD214, any re-enlistment documentation, TSP information, etc.). The VA has a method/system in which they are able to view your son's medical records but I definitely recommend that he keeps a personal copy for his own records I would say a digital copy is really good because you can copy it as many times as he needs (I plan on keeping 2 copies on two different flashdrives).

I'm at 90%. I'm serviced connected for PTSD with insomnia disorder with other sleep disorder 70%, ASTHMA 60% (Environmental Hazard in Gulf War), TINNITUS 10%, HEARING LOSS bilateral 0%, GASTRITIS 10%, LUMBAR STRAIN WITH DEGENERATIVE ARTHRITIS 20%, stab wound with residual scar and compressed neuropathy, left hand 10%,. I recently got serviced connected for OSA(OBSTRUCTED SLEEP APNEA) but they made it secondary to my asthma instead of PTSD. Can I appeal the secondary link and link it TO PTSD? Plus I'm going file for hypertension and possibly diabetes.

My husband has many secondary claims from Vietnam. He is in process for these claims as he is rated as L1?2. He is totally disabled,Blind, Dementia from stroke, Heart failure CHF, Seizures which are medication controlled from the neuropathy, diabetes etc. The list is huge. He cannot feed himself , walk, and has dysphagia. I am looking for an R rating. What are the chances? he is 100% from neuropathy and various other ratings for stroke, blindness and all the rest. I need the R rating to pay for the additional home care. He is 84 years old.This is just a short summary. They expedited his claim and it is in decision. I am a nurse and can do the medical aspects but not the lifting bathing etc. Thanks Chris Malloy

. Always mention Dx from “treating MDs” but even living in a large metro area with a university medical center all one needs to do is mention “VA” or “DBQ” to an MD and they’re gone… .

I’m 100% total disabled through combination of connecting issues, do you get extra compensation? Or is 100% it?
@troywhidden9240
@troywhidden9240 2 жыл бұрын
You can get SMC and the amount varies based on type of injury. Need a lawyer or competent VSO to look into it for you.
@BRcustoms2933

Well I tried to get SMC, but they denied it, they also lied about me and that C&P exam, they reduced one of my disabilities when they didn’t even do the exam, because I was unable to do what they asked. They also will not let me in a VA facility because I’m unable to wear a mask, and having a letter stating so. So now they are literally coming after me.

I could send you a sample nexus letter. What condition are you trying to connect sleep apnea with, for example obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), secondary to PTSD or rhinitis? What type of sleep apnea do you have, OSA or central or both?
