This is a tutorial on how to Uninstall - Install a laptop keyboard key.
This keyboard is from an HP Compaq 620 625. How to replace keys, keyboard repair.
How to fix or repair your keyboard key cap easy. This is a video guide tutorial that shows how you can easily fix a notebook or laptop keyboard key if it has been removed or misplaced from the keyboard. It will also help you install or put the keyboard key back on the keyboard, if you need to remove the key caps in order to clean the keyboard or try to fix a nonworking key.

@@rue2414 Yes me too but luckily I had a warranty for my keyboard so Dell will replace my old keyboard with a new one for free check if yours has a warranty like mine.

I can't even thank you enough!! I was cleaning my 6 key because it kept sticking and took the key out, then I could not get it back in. I scrolled through every video and didn't work,but this master piece of a tutorial did. Even 8 years later and it still is one of the best tutorials on KZfaq :)

This honestly might be the most important video I've ever watched up to this point in my life. Every once in a while, someone will ask me to put a key back on their laptop. Computer repair in general is out of my scope of work, and laptop keys are the bane of my existence. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I searched on Google yow to repair a key on an HP laptop and this video was one that popped up. I clicked it , watched IT took me FOREVER to get the tiny black piece to click with the slightly larger black part, and when it did it'd bounce out again!!!! ugh suffice to say I noticed little black things your supposed to push the nodules under and through to get them together. the scariest part was after getting the tiny pieces together , and on the empty part on the laptop , I had to put the key on, last time I did that the day I broke the key which was last month , everything bounced back /the key wouldn't move like its supposed too so I had to start all over again. ....but...I...DID IT. It's torture to type without your A key. my finger would always miss the silicone button , it was such a hassle, so thank you so much for this upload !!

For anyone who may have difficulty placing back the retainer, it might be because when attempting to connect it back to the base, you haven't aligned it properly to the latches on the keyboard base. Had trouble attaching the retainer back because i was pressing it down the whole time when the latch (for my brand of laptop, it might differ from yours) was actually in the shape of a tiny hook :')

it looks easy on this video, bu depending on the model, this is borderline impossible to do without breaking one of the little bars of the mounts that attach to the hooks on the keyboard. This plastic doesn't stretch very easily. If you are ordering parts, I recommend that you order more than one of the same key that you need to replace, in case you break it trying to get it on.

After checking online i found solutions such as sticky keys, power options for hid in device manager but i think this is the one. Thanks for the vid.
