Mine just arrived (Australia), and the 2nd slot is smaller and I ended up only can put in 1 sim card.

Yes it will work with wifi without a sim card. But you will need the sim card to connect the phone to a wireless network like att or Verizon.

In USA there is no SIM card required ! Has a eSim built in you can add a Sim card if you like 👍 just want to clarify that 😊

@D PC yes it does check settings, about phone, you'll see IMEI w the number next to it and right underneath that it will say IMEI (esim) and the number for that next to it. source: i own two Metro by T-Mobile brick and mortar stores in the Philadelphiaarea (please save the jokes I'm already stressed enough hahaha).
