This is a good video, I will be doing something like this for my Daughters 2016 Subaru Forrester. I will need to do more research though, the seems a little more tricky with the HVAC controls being in the way.

Very nice professional work. Me, I would have ordered identical radio, then I could just skip adapting the new to the harness. I'm just not that brave when it comes to electronics. Yet, I see you where able to add many new features...! I have old car, old equipment, no cell phone and manual windows. I'm old but I'm still working circles around you young whipper snappers.

I purchased a harness adaptor from you. I followed the directions on the instuction booklet and there is no power to the radio. There is power to my old radio but not my new one.

Could be a stupid question, but there were 2 big connectors pulled from the stock unit. But only one was used for the aftermarket unit. Is that second connector not needed,

In this case, we did just need to connect the one plug. This will vary from install to install.

I have a Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS DVD, trying to install in a 2016 Ford F250 super crew cab. I have the right wiring harness but when everything is hooked up the stereo will not turn on. I have a 2nd wiring harness in the stereo cavity that came off the right side of the back of my factory stereo. Do I need another harness for that? I am not sure why mine will not turn on. Am I missing something?

Funny how you breezed right through that parking brake wire. How long did it take a couple of guys to get that set for you? Oh and how many features work besides the radio without it? I’m guessing none. Oh wait the clock. That stereo is a brick without it and if your parking brake wire is a bear to connect to, you’re screwed unless you buy or rig up a bypass.

If by "functional buttons" you mean factory steering wheel radio controls, they can likely be retained with the proper installation accessories for your vehicle and a compatible stereo.It's always best to start with the "Outfit My Car" application on the main Crutchfield website: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYTVc180/car/carselector.aspx?lp=%2fCar%2foutfitmycar%2fmycar.aspx Then, when you add a selected stereo to your shopping cart, you will be prompted to select a package of installation accessories for your specific vehicle application. I am trying to install a Ken wood stero. Model DMX7706S double din radio into my 2000 chysler 300M my problem is that I can’ t find a kit to make it fit. Please advise me on where I can find a kit to make this work

We have not found a double din radio mounting kit for it either which I believe is due to a limited height radio opening and radio cavity. Some sort of modifications are needed to create more room for this sized radio chassis. We recommend contacting a local custom installer to check if they can create the room and make a mounting kit to help install it

Do I need to plug in the antenna wire for the radio to turn on ? Because mine won’t turn on and everything is wired correctly and is receiving power because the ground is showing output. 2010 Ford Focus SEL

No you should be able to power the radio on without connecting the antenna wire. The 12 volt constant and accessory power are going to be the wires you need to ensure are connected properly. I bought the wiring harness aftermarket face-plate to secure radio, and I have all the wires connected except for the yellow constant 12v wire. Where should I connect this wire? Also, hypothetically, if I were not to connect this wire would the new radio not turn on? Thanks

The yellow is the constant 12volt power lead to retain the memory settings of the stereo. (clock, radio presets, audio adjustments, etc.). The radio will work without this lead connected but all of the settings will return to factory defaults each and every time the stereo is powered down. If you got the proper wiring harness for your vehicle, there should be a matching yellow lead to connect the stereo's lead to.Hope that helps!--Crutchfield

Will the above video, be basically the same way to install a aftermarket CD player into a 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade? I know from other clips how to remove the factory stereo out, but non show the basic steps in doing a wiring harness. My model also has a steering wheel controls.

Yes and the majority of the our current models have built-in amps. We do have an interface you can use to keep the SYNC with select models in your Taurus as well.

A module to fix signal issues from the head unit.... I replaced the deck speakers with JL C1s and still is having the initial crackling and clipping noise. Head may just need to be replaced. I do want to keep the Sync system going if I can.

Is your's a sedan? Does it have the 4 or the 6 speaker system in it?

I installed the unit on my 05-F150 according to the instructions. Volume up and down works and tuning up works but tuning down or back changes to DVD. now what.

If you undo the battery neg. And accidentally short neg. To ground.. yep nothing shorting pos. To chassis could be exciting though. Why dx the neg not the pos? Disconnect the neg. "Because "it's already grounded" it's?? Huh? Guys ever use the newer double in out harness ? Plug n play
