I added aluminum tape to the bottom of my countertop to prevent warping. My old laminate countertop had warped considerably from the dishwasher steam, but it was very old.

That is a good idea! Some of the newer dishwashers like the LG shown in the video don't vent the steam out the top of the door like some of the older dishwashers so that shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you! But I was getting the 4,3,2,1 count down and heard it might not be level. But without finding this video I just raised the front up 1/4" as a guess. That did the trick. However I found this video and tried to do this level. I got it close to actual level and it was back to the count down. So back it went to my "guess". But now I have this in my back pocket. Thanks!

One good thing to do with a Dishwasher, is Lean it back a bit. Not to a extreme but just enough so water doesn't pool at the front. If your ever getting a bit of leaking at the front edge of the door, this can help. Of course if there is a seal issue or broken part that's leaking, then the part in question will need to be replaced.

The manual says to pass the water line and drain hose through the same hole at the lower back of the cabinet. Would that really cause water from sink drain to back up into the dishwasher?

Thanks for the video, just installed my dishwasher same make and model. Have owned and installed a few this one is very noisy. Is that normal. Thanks
@PartsDr3 жыл бұрын
The problem with noise levels is that they are hard to compare over the internet. Make sure that none of the insulation pieces are missing and that the bottom cover is installed. It isn't the quietest dishwasher that we have tested but quiet enough that we were able to talk right next to the running dishwasher in this video here; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fZ2cq7VqvNKzeas.html

I noticed there is no air gap. Is one still required? I've heard they are required to be within code.

You will want to check with your local code to see what they require. That will vary by the area you live.

Why on earth does LG use a 2.5" hole size for the drain line when the standard size is 1.5". Anyone replacing an old dishwasher with this one (i.e. not new construction) will have a headache.
@mohammad3034 Жыл бұрын
Isn't this dishwasher a free-standing one? Why do we need to screw it to the cabinets?
@PartsDr Жыл бұрын
The LG model LDF5545ST dishwasher shown in the video is not a free-standing dishwasher, it is a built-in dishwasher.

@BittersweetSymphony3 жыл бұрын
Did you make a hole on the counter-top for the main electric wire of the dishwasher to reach up to the plug point?
@PartsDr3 жыл бұрын
The power supply to the dishwasher can vary depending on the area that you live and the electrical code requirements. Most commonly the electrical outlet for the dishwasher is installed in the cabinet next to the dishwasher and it is sometimes shared with the garbage disposal. You may want to contact a local electrician for further details.

Installed the exact same dishwasher, turns on cycles and stops, no water in the dishwasher and yes the water valve was on, is there something I’m missing ?
@PartsDr3 жыл бұрын
Try checking the water supply from the house to the dishwasher. Grab a bucket, turn off the water, remove the line and put the line in the bucket and turn the water back on.
@curtisneal26713 жыл бұрын
Did that, can it be air locked ?
@PartsDr3 жыл бұрын
@@curtisneal2671 We have never run into that. The next thing to check would be to see if power is being sent to the water valve. If the water valve has power and it is not letting water into the dishwasher, then the water inlet valve is most likely bad. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rNh0hs9jmdzbkaM.html
@kelaro753 жыл бұрын
@@curtisneal2671 I had the same problem. Started the dishwasher and it completed the cycle but no clean dishes. Pulled it out to check everything and found that the water line had a pinch in it. Now it fills and washes.

On some sinks next to faucet, what is the thing that seems to be some kind of air release vent(?), when the dishwasher is draining? Do you have to have this?
@PartsDr4 жыл бұрын
Hi Juli, what you are describing is called an air gap. An air gap is an anti-backflow device to prevent water from the house from backing up into the dishwasher. It is code in some areas and it is required to install and air gap. In our area there is no requirement to install an air gap so we drilled the hole up as high as possible for the drain hose which creates a loop which also prevent backflow (show at 1:24).
