I have one and love it, had it installed in the storm door... works great! Now, if only Home Depot would stock the replacement plastic flaps, it would solve the problem of them aging and cracking!

I suggest going and getting 8/32 x 3” machine screws. It made the door more secure.

Thank you for sharing this concern, Nick! It is critical to mention that metal screws should not be used for the frame. This is because they do not adjust as well as nylon screws to temperature fluctuations, particularly extreme cold. Use of metal screws shortens the lifespan of the door, and typically results in irreparable frame damage over time. We do apologize for any misunderstanding.

I have my installed the same way but it seems backwards when I look at it from outside.

What if it's a metal door? Same screws and saw?

Thank you for your question! During installation, you would use the same screws and use the proper saw blade according to door material (for example a wood blade for a wood door and a metal blade for a metal door). We hope this information is helpful!

the closing panel, instructions say outdoor , the video is shown inside the house, which one is correct

Thank you for your question and we apologize for the confusion! The closing panel should be installed on the inside frame of the pet door.

why do the instructions say to have it a minimum of 3 inches from the hinged side and bottom of door?

Probably so the door frame is still sturdy despite the large section being cut off.

Are the flaps air-tight? Or do they let the wind blow in?

Thank you for reaching out to us, Nélia. The vinyl flap of this door includes a magnet at the bottom to help seal the flap to the frame. However, there are not magnets on the left and right side of this flap to allow a larger range of motion.

How important is it to put the side with the flap on the inside? I liked it better on the outside so I put it there will that work okay?

Hello Barbara, While you can direct the front side either way, we recommend the inside as the closing panel is easier to snap on that side. However the door will still function perfectly either way!

I was disappointed that the closing panel can only be put on the flap side. If I wanted to use it to keep the pets in I would have to have the flap on the inside but I got this for cats and I want them to choose for themselves whether to be inside or outside. I might put the panel on when I go out somewhere so they won't go in and get stuck between the storm door and the inside door.

The person who installed mine did not watch this when it was done he handed me the four black strips he did not know what they were for. can I unscrew the screws and the door be removed and reinstalled so that I can put in those strips?

@@patrick9685 2 people read the directions and didn't see it. I went back and read the directions and noticed the word "optional" next to it so that might have confused them the optional part was putting tape on the corners.

@@barbaraferron7994 yikes. In mine it shows exactly how to cut and install them. Must’ve not gotten the right directions. They could have also just simply googled this exact video too. Oh well..
