Our dryer vent hose disconnected and was blowing hot air into the laundry room. So we needed to clean up the dryer lint and replace the old hose and install a new dryer vent hose. I show you how I use Rigid Aluminum dryer vent hose with Dryer Vent Duct Tape and Hose Clamps. Commend down below if you have any questions.

1:30 - That is ordinary Duct Tape. You should never use Duct tape on a heated hose. This is HVAC Aluminum Heat resistant Duct Tape. This is appropriate for heat applications. People should not confuse the two. Regular plastic duct tape will melt. Thank you! This is just what I needed to see. My hose was slipping off after I cleaned out dryer and hose of lint. What a job!

I just had this done to my dryer hose. I also had all the vents in the walls blown out. I was amazed how much stuff was in the vent in the wall. (My dryer is two rooms away from the outside wall.) I've been playing with this connection for 2 hours. A dryer hose attachment is a remarkable POS design. The pipe and hose are the same size. Why? Why is a dryer hose installation more difficult than replacing a light bulb? Answer, it's a POS design. The manufacturers of these connections best stop showing their face in public.

Just finished replacing our hose and totally agree. I would happily pay a few bucks more for something well made and accessible. Makes you wonder what other components are just waiting to fall apart.

The hardest part of the job was fitting the dryer hose onto the dryer outlet and the outside vent. In our case it required two people, three automotive hose clamps, one spring clamp, a cordless drill, a 5/16 nut driver, a screwdriver, a flashlight, a mirror, a broom handle, a tool retriever, and a limitless supply of curses. A trapeze would have been helpful, too, so we could hang upside down behind the dryer and actually see what our hands were doing.

We used the same 3M tape to attach our dryer hose and on the heating ducts under the house...good stuff!

Thanks for sharing! Do you know how to remove dryer lint from the outside? I bought a dryer duct cleaning kit but cannot get the lint pushed all the way through. Any tips?

I just bought a condo and it has a plastic flex hose. I want to replace it with an aluminum hose before I buy a washer and dryer. How do I safely go about removing the plastic flex hose? There's a hole in the wall and the plastic hose is coming out of it. I just can't tell how far back it goes or if I'll damage something by just yanking at it.

Use dryer vent tape. It's specifically for dryer vents. Dryer vents get way hotter and are way more combustible (due to lint) than normal HVAC ducts.

Do anyone know why I saw water into my dryer vent ? It was kind of half bucket water. Recently my dryer stopped working and technician come and showed us water in the vent. He said he doesn't know how but it may be like your vent is lying on floor and not hang right from the dryer side

just did the same as you and even positioned the duct in the same fashion as you, but my question is will there be any issues with clogging if the duct is pointed up like that?

You always have to do your regular duct or vent cleaning. However that's how the in take from the wall was installed with the building construction so I am going to assume it will be fine.

To tape or not to tape, THAT is the question...@@sl1237 I would say: tape it properly, you won't have to clean out the lint or maybe once per blue moon.

For most people, they never replace it. I would say, inspect behind your dryer when it's in function. If nothing is kinked or there is no excessive lint around (spiderweb are ok!), you should be good for another year. Inspect it from time to time (and vacuum that place is usually nasty!). You don’t want to push your dryer all the way to the wall. You want a bit of airflow around the unit. Look at the back wall of your dryer and you will see lots of ribbed vents.

The trick is to cut it. The adhesive is strong enough that peeling it off can be a pain.

Nice house heating tip for when you're desperate. Turn on dryer and disconnect hose to blow into room. Shouldn't be any lint if you just run it empty. Tape and clamp seem like overkill My man, but I understand when you've had the dryer duct fall off before.

Putting the dryer hose OVER the wall port is going to create a lip inside the pipe for lint to collect into... Wouldn't it be better to put the hose INTO the wall pipe?

Your constant turning and twisting of 3M tape prevents viewing specific type.

Yes, it’s just the room will get really hot/moist because all the heat isn’t being vented out through the house the way it should be. And as he showed in the beginning lint will blow out the hole which is a fire hazard.

Applying the hose to the flange on the dryer and the wall outlet is NOT THAT SIMPLE.. in fact I say BS…. Getting the flex hose to slide onto the flange to fit properly and at on is difficult to impossible… WHATS THE MAGIC solution…. 😳

Pretty useless video mostly praising 3M duct tape and showing back of presenter's head rather than what he was doing with his hands, and disparaging use of the clamps.
