Great video thanks for posting. Wasn’t sure if I should put my shut off close to manifold or appliance etc but you explained the reason where and why. Thanks. 👍

Now I'm not plumber, but my understanding is that aside from balancing pressure, the point of a manifold system is to have shutoffs available at the beginning of every run. You can still have shutoffs on each fixture, but now, if something happens along the run and it requires servicing, you still need to shut off the main water, and drain the entire system. Not the case if you install shutoffs at the manifold. Better to have extra shutoffs, than not have one where you need it.

You are correct...But I do have shutoffs at each device. Reasons for manifold are many ......less connections/cost or points of failure/pressure/etc. You can buy manifolds with shutoffs build in if you like.....

Hey Doug, great job! Question, is it ok to leave one of the openings on the manifold open/unconnected to a pex pipe and the other connected one would still work and no leak/water would come out the unconnected one?

J yes it will- you will need to cap it or just get another manifold with the right number of ports

I wouldn't use pinch straps. They bust quite easily
