Wow, nice to see that you made this work in the cramped space! Congrats! I told you a few weeks ago that I couldn’t make mine fit but it turns out a screw was blocking my seat adjustment.... now that it’s settled I’ll do the same!

Good job and better than me I would say. I just got a 2000 Boxter in great well-kept shape and going to do this but going to take it to a place and have them do all that work and I just get to enjoy the finished product. :)

It's like you read my mind. I followed your tutorial and put in all new speakers and a double-din head unit (from Crutchfield) in my '99 Boxster. I had this exact sub in my amazon cart and was wondering how it would fit. Thank you! Also I'm getting into 3D printing and noticed you're missing the sun visor mirror covers. I'm working on printing these for my own car and if you would like I could supply you with some once I set up my 3D printer (it should be here in about a week or so). I also found a 3D print that uses where the ash tray goes and turns it into a cupholder. Let me know if you are interested.

I have the same sub. But made or branded BOSS and currently installed in my Audi but will uninstall and put it in the Boxster. Would it be possible to know the brand of your head, bezel, and the wiring kit for the head unit (not for the sub) please?

I like all of your videos, they really help out people like myself who are first time Porsche owners and want to add upgrades, do maintenance. Good work. What I would like to know is about the remote sub level controller. Can it be just any mini amplifier type of device, or, can you facilitate me a link to where I can purchase one of those remotes? It's a learning process watching your videos, keep up the good work. Thank you.

Good idea on where to locate the sub. Definitely going to do this. Any idea what year Cayenne the seats came out of? Are they manual or powered seats?

+Justice Pool sorry I said the wrong thing about the seats in a couple videos. They are from a cayman not a cayenne. 2005 I believe. Vertical seat adjustment is powered, horizontal is manual.

How does that Rockville subwoofer sound? Does it give enough thump to take the tinny treble sound away when your driving the car. Is it a 10" or 8" suboofer? Are you happy with the base your getting or would you of rather gone with something different? Thanks...

Help me - I'm just learning about this stuff and I had to install a new head unit myself in my 07 Boxster - there are NO INSTALLERS here on Marthas Vineyard, and needed an ACC power source to avoid battery drainage.If you're wiring directly to the battery, that's a constant power source, correct? Why not use an ACC source from the Fuse box and forego the extra step of an on/off switch?

+Edward Monette yes the battery is constant power. Subs require a lot of power so they expect you are going to have it connected directly to the battery typically so mine can detect if the audio source is playing to automatically turn itself on and off (no switch required). Using an existing fuse is typically harder and less reliable as you could overload that circuit and blow the fuse. My sub has its own separate fuse. Hope this helps and hope you’re a subscriber!

Well I’m glad you’re happy with the results but time the difference between an amateur and a good professional installation is really highlighted in this video. It really is just the little things that could make it so much better but then also add quite a bit of time

You should do a video just on slapping the head unit back in. I want to see if you curse out the horrible vent design as much as I do when putting my head unit back in. If not for that, it would be a simple head unit to take out and put back in. Because of the vents, I dread doing it

There are, but the wires are not the issue. The stupid flaps as well as the oval plastic shroud or whatever you want to call it that clips in constant snap out of place. Everything else goes in easy, except for the vent.

I am almost done with this project and ran into an issue. As I was connecting the radio to test everything, my interior dome lights shut off (and are not turning back on). Guessing I blew a fuse but can’t find which fuse was impacted. Any thoughts?

Also not getting power to the sub. In case that’s connected. Radio works tho.

And the issue with the sub was my own mistake. I missed the significance of the remote wire. Lol. This is my first sub install.
