I just installed this one on my 2021. Everything fit great. However, my tailgate door don’t want to open when I roll out the bed cover. I don’t know if it’s a type of lock security. I tried unlocking with my fob. I also trie to disable the tailgate security lock. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. So, my tailgate door is lock and not opening. Any idea? Thanks. Great video BTW.

The 21’s do have the capability of a locking tailgate. It would unlock with 2 presses on the unlock button, or grabbing one of the front door handles which also unlock your doors. If it is not locked it may just be a tight fit with the cover and you’ll just need to tug a little harder to open it, Thanks for watching!

Awesome, I just used 1 to 2 depending just trying to get the bracket level I don’t think there were any lock washers I’ve never had an issue with anything getting loose though!

Good video and instructions. I didnt use a power drill to loosen the factory bolts just old man strength. :) Finding that T-30 bit was an interesting chore, I found one that was a little rusty but it did the job. Thanks for showing how to do final adjustments.

Does the cover come with the mounting brackets or was that something you kept from when you bought the truck?

The kit comes with the brackets, you just use the screws that are already in your bed.

Surprisingly no, It’s holding up very well. Nothing at all wrong with it and I haven’t treated it with anything and it’s outside all the time.

I seen a Amazon review that showed water pooling on the tonnue cover since there’s no center supports.

I have had water pool, it runs off as you start moving of course, it has never leaked through.

We just bought a 2017 and will try this. I just wished these trucks came with a tailgate that locks. I found the after market locking tailgate handle but how did that get past the engineers.

Great video. The instructions included are poor and don't mention that there are 6 smaller washers meant to go on the top, and 18 larger washers used as spacers for the brackets. Also, the brackets to use in the rear should be labeled with an "R". I have only seen some acceptable water leakage with this cover, but I've had problems with it flapping around noisily if I'm driving over 55 MPH. Have you experienced this?

Once I un roll it back over the bed I always walk around both sides starting at the cab and pull it tight over the Velcro so I don’t notice any flapping noise inside the cab. I can see it waving around a little in the rear view though.

Well, mine arrived with the proper labeling, in a box strapped and sealed, but the front bar, from end to end, with the corners installed flush, is too wide for the front sliders to have enough lateral slot, to secure the bolts. If the clamps are installed to the bed with the factory bolts, There isn’t enough lateral slot in the front sliders to bolt them to the mounts. Looks like I need to call tech support. Is there a chance you can measure the width of your front bar, as installed to compare with the width on mine? Just the bar: Outside to outside ends?That could tell me if they labeled the right box and right T cover. Thank you.

In another video, someone said the brackets are different between front and back. I’d better remove them all and compare them.

Where the front of the cover meets the cab I’ve got 64 inches. I hope this helps, if you have any other questions just let me know.

Success. The aft sliders are shorter than the other four. I have some slight fore and aft wrinkles but I expect that will smooth out. The bracket and fitment all the way around is great now.

Can you still open the trunk all the way with this installed?

It will open enough for access but not all the way, when the trunk is fully opened it is taller than the bed. If you need it open all the way simply roll the cover forward a bit.

Your video was very informative. I just got roll up cover yesterday for my 22 Ridgeline BE. In the box was one piece of foam weatherstripping with adhesive back. It was not listed among parts nor mentioned in directions. Any idea on its purpose?

It should be for the front by the cab you may notice the notches in the plastic on top of the bed, that weather strip should help keep the water from running into those notches.

Yes, I sell Honda for a living the only body style difference on the 20 and 21 is from the a pillar forward the bed is the exact same.

Put this on my 2021. Fit is spot on, installs same as in this vid. Only diff from 17-20 vs 21 is front end. Bed exact same.

What’s the bed depth/height under the cover?

I haven’t measured it exactly but it’s around 15-16 inches, it’s not a lot but it’s sufficient, that’s why I chose a soft roll cover instead of a hard, I can roll it out of the way and have access to the full bed or just enough for the cargo I’m hauling.

There is a little strap that hangs down in the middle on the rear just pull down on it.

Good luck with the cap screws in your bed. Mine are so tight I don't know if God himself could get them out. Currently drilling them out with an extractor & they won't budge.

They are not cheap, but they are great trucks! I sell them for a living and I’ve only seen 1, 22 black edition so far. Glad you were able to get your hands on one.

I bought a 2024 Black Edition for 46k. I am glad I waited for the 24 because it has some nice upgrades inside and out. And, they were willing to sell it for 2k under MSRP.

A small amount does seem to make its way in where the side and front corner of the bed meet and there is a factory gap in the plastic, however I have heard the same complaint from guys with the Honda tri-fold cover.

It rolls all the way up to the cab, and has straps to secure it. That’s why I wanted this style, when I want to haul something large I need the whole bed!

I believe the question might have been intended to ask how far the TRUNK can open with the rails in place? Would be nice to see you roll it up and secure it, then open the trunk.

99% 3rd gear pressure sensor. Older Acura RDX with the same trans has exact same problem. Paid around $400.00 at Honda dealership to replace it on my 17" Ridgeline about a month ago.

yes when I installed this cover, it made my transmission start slipping
