Silly me. I studied electronics back in the day and completely forgot about 'band pass filters'. Of course this is how you 'sift out' the sub-woofer signals. Well done son! Very useful tip and reminder.

@@Work_G Unfortunately for you it's basically a dead industry in the West. Unless you are an engineer working with CAD and Bots, you're never going to be involved in anything of interest. However, people do spend big on their car stereo systems nowadays. Sometimes more than the 'go fast' items. Working at a 'high end' Car Audio place would make for a great first job, while you're putting yourself through Uni!

Hello! Cant tell exact but if you have cd changer you need to look there. Or probably most basic method to bring wire from the ignition. And lastly from rear light like I did (but it will work only when lights is on and don't recommend for powerful audio system)

The way I did it was to use an LOC (line out converter) that has a remote wire that powers on when it senses an audio signal. An extra 12volt outlet was used for the power source of the LOC.

Wanted to replace the factory sub in my car with a new sub amp set up. If I use the wires going to the factory sun as my input for an LOC would that mean that the sub control on the head unit would still control the sub? If not is it possible to somehow have my head unit still control my new sub. I really don’t want to have to an a knob control.

Yes, if you get a decent output converter. Something like the LC2i Pro, would be your best bet for a clean signal.

Almost any speaker will work, and that's the point on this install to take signal via converter with stock head unit, because rarely they come with necessary outputs. Sure there is some quality loss but you have to be real super into music to notice it

@@factsoverfeelings21 you can go into the fuse box and use a 3 way connection and connect the remote on there. Find a fuse that turns on when the car is on but not started. Another way is have a on/off switch that turns on the amp. Run power to the switch and then from switch to the amp.

@Work_G
@Work_G 7 ай бұрын
That is probably the only way in this case, splice in nearest speaker wires (if no speakers in trunk, use door speakers) maybe in your car is some kind of factory amplifier where all speaker wires meet. And if none of two ways doesn't work for you you have ho to the radio itself or even replace it with aftermarket one

@@ravi3457 It's tail lights - running lights. My car has an auto function, so as soon as the engine starts running lights turns on (headlights and tail lights) and amplifier activates from the same source. If you will use brake or reverse than your system will work only when you are braking or reversing the car. It would be best to take the remote from ignition key, fuse box, or make a separate switch that you can control from the driver's seat. (I used the taillights for remote power only because my car don't have 12v that turns on from the ignition in the back and I didn't want to run wires to the front of the car)

Why are you not grounding it securely? So many questions lol just why would you do this in general? How bad do you need bass? Lol just save up your allowance and get yourself the proper setup. Once you own all the components install it. I mean, it's your vehicle, you do you, but I wouldn't be doing this type of setup.

Plus the car is off, there is no need to worry about solderiñg the wiring from the speaker out wire, it ís just speaker wire and not power wire. Àlso with some new vehicles, the stock radio does a good job with android auto and car play and there is no need to switch it out.
