A NOTE FOR THE PROFESSIONAL INSTALLERS WATCHING THIS VIDEO =)
ALL - THANKS FOR WATCHING OUR VIDEO. JUST A REMINDER AND NOTE THAT THIS VIDEO IS IN NO WAY TRYING TO SHOW HOW A TRULY PROFESSIONAL INSTALL SHOULD LOOK/BE PERFORMED. WITH THIS SAID - THE ATTEMPT HERE IS TO SHOW THE LAYPERSON WITH MINIMAL TOOLS AND BUDGET HOW TO MAKE SOME ECONOMICAL IMPROVEMENTS TO YOUR FACTORY SYSTEM. Items and methods like shrink tubes, soldering, bare metal contact on the amp to firewall (which has never been an issue for me in 20 years), and certain professional installation tools are not shown here. Everything I show, however, is time tested and works great based on my experience (20+ years). Perhaps the only improvement I would really suggest is shrink tubing and soldering connections which is not too expensive.... hot summers can make electrical tape slide off over time - so good connections are better longer term. Whoever takes the time to give an in depth explanation of how to install not only the Amp's power cable but almost all aspects of a car audio system upgrade, definitley gets a subscription from me. Thank you sir and to the cool camera lady. Helped me very much with alot of questions I had that only this video could answer!

JoeTechProjects thank you for this video. This helped me in my install. I ran a 5 channel using a LC7i with Fosgate Punch speakers all the way around. Then ended up installing a EQS because the stock stereo only has treble and bass. Now I'm installing a separate mono amp for a second sub (needed more bass). Had to go through the passenger side for a second run of 4 gauge. Deadened the trunk with Noico mats and put foam strips in between the plastic deck and glass to eliminate the rattle.

I've spent a good amount of time researching car audio and installation as I am currently building a system for my s2k and your video is the best one I've seen as far as basic installation. Really helped, I appreciate you taking the time to do this. A lot of "car audio" places in my area are sketchy, rude, and over charge because I won't by their MSRP products. Going to install my speakers and amp with a friend next weekend, thanks again!

Once again, nicely done and after watching this all the way through, I'm looking forward (and am confident) to installing my new 12" and hopefully swap out the side door speakers, now that I know how to do that too! Ryan - thanks for your comment! it is much appreciated. I think the only thing I wish we had done differently was not rushed and went to autozone to purchase an "add a circuit" fuse lead. The are cheap and makes for a much cleaner *and easier install on the remote wire.

You've done a great job with your wife's car. Personally, I'd never hook an amp to the stock headunit without using an output converter, but yours is still a valid solution. A tip for your next installation: When you connect the positive wire to the battery, if your car doesn't have any battery temperature sensor in the positive terminal, you can replace the stock terminal with one from aftermarket car audio brands such as Kicker, specially made to connect up to three wires of different gauges. Also, leave at least 8 inches of wire from the fuse box to the terminal, so you can fix it in a solid surface using screws. Suscribed!

Thanks for that quick response. What I'm trying to figure out is if my 2017 Hyundai Elantra which has a Harmon-Infinity system in it with an amp if that stock amp can be adjusted to make it louder. I already had my own amp installed for just another sub and 2 6x9 boxes, so the stock speakers aren't altered, but I want to get them louder. before I tear apart my car, I want to know if it's possible.

Thank you for putting out so much hard work into filming your setup. I know its hard enough installing the system without a camera in the way. Hello, thank you for the video, doing this right now for my Accord 2008, can you please let me know how did you get the RCA cables running from the factory radio to the amp? I have a 5 ch amp for the front and rear speakers and a 10 inch sub.

I recommend twisting, soldering and using heat shrink on anything like this. Invest in an electric or gas soldering iron, it makes the job easier, quicker and saves future problems.

If I don’t have high level inputs I’d need a LOC to connect the speaker to amp ? If you can please explain the soldering method or method u used for 51:20 is it a three way splice or just two wires ?

Quick question: would this guide also work if I am hooking up new speakers and adding a sub and keeping my head unit? I want to run 4 speakers and two tweeters (which run off the front door speakers) and a sub off a 5 channel amp and keep my stock head unit in place.
@JoeTechProjects
@JoeTechProjects 10 жыл бұрын
Mike, thanks for your question. That is exactly what we did. we kept the factory stereo. We only hooked up a mono channel amp for the sub and ran the 4 reg speakers form the stereo supplied wattage. As for the tweeters - for best performance - a small amp with dedicated channels for each would be best, however many people tie them into the door speakers and they will work. It will reduce the overall performance though.

I believe those rear speaker screws have a hex head, you could have used the ratchet with the appropriate socket (8mm on mine) . I have an 8mm ratcheting flex wrench that worked even better. I have a coupe and the clearance for those back screws are even shallower than on the sedans. Just a thought... Great video. Very detailed. Thanks!
