Hey Michael! I have a fresh built 250r with brand new HPI ignition. I am only running a pro design tether kill switch. Does that go right into that "kill switch wire" coming off the cdi? Or do I splice that into the orange wire coming into the coil?

Because after he set 2mm btdc he cut the video and then lock the nut, and then on double check the piston was 0mm tdc and rotor placed on secound mark. After he moves it 2mm before, the ignition logo on rotor its outside the ruler with ignition marks

Congrats bro. I knew you'd figure it out. Now it's time for a ride video. Wanna see that bad boy in action. Oh, hey, 1 more tip for you. If you want a lighter pull on your clutch lever, straighten out that Z bend on your lower clutch lever, attached to the clutch cable (seen at 10:20). You'll have to grind a little off the cylinder for clearance of the lever and tweak the cable mount a little, but the reduction in clutch pull is noticeable and well worth the mod.

Technical writing is an art form in itself. Some of the best engineers, inventors, and builders have a hard time clearly explaining how their creations work. It's no surprise that the installation instructions were misleading. When someone knows everything there is to know about a system, they may unconsciously assume that the reader understands what they are saying.

A question for you. would you say with the lower mass flywheel than stock, the motor revs a bit quicker or easier? Also, is there less vibration? I figure even with the added weight, the hpi unit is lighter than oem. I just ordered an hpi unit for my bike that has a big ol' OEM flywheel. hoping to get a quicker revving bike and hoping this smaller diameter flywheel will reduce some of the vibration.

Hey mike you might want to check but we always lightened our flywheel for mx. And run oem for xc racing. Some guys weight there flywheels for xc. More roating mass slower rev, less stall. Lighter flywheel faster rev. On a mx track you want faster rev to get the power down for the jumps. That's why mx dirtbikes have such small flywheels.

Here in spain these kind of ignitions are most installed in 50cc mopeds that are so famous and people use to get them to 70 to 110cc with ignitions like these but here we have mvt, selettra, bk, italkit and these brands. Nice vid tho

Is HPI available for yamaha blaster ??
@MichaelSabo
@MichaelSabo 4 жыл бұрын
I would imagine yes; these are somewhat universal and HPI makes a ton of different models. LED Performance may actually know the exact one and be able to get it for you.
