Great job and great video. Well done. Home owners must be delighted. Would you be able to do a video showing steps being built where the finished level is above the DPC and showing the precautions you'd take to avoid the DPC being bridged to avoid damp issues? Keep up the good work.

I love how you are about helping out each other. After watching a few videos, some layers put a sand coat after brushing the pile to help lock in the pile in an up-right position, then brush it again to help it even out and remove it from view . I'd live to know if you give it a go and what you thought of it.

Evening team, I've got a bit of an enquiry you might have some input on. I'm basically building a play area, 8x6m. It's going to be used for sports so wants to be dead flat and level. Client also wants the artificial grass to meet the existing grass flush. I'm just racking my brain thinking of the best way to achieve that neat junction between thr two and it not peeling back. Initial thoughts are to have a perimeter of conc or blocks to stick the artificial grass on, but just don't know if that's overkill as it'd require way more labour. Love to hear any thoughts from an experienced head. Cheers team keep it up

What mix was the haunching for the grass, is it a straight sand and cement or is it a mix with ballast? I was thinking a 5 to 1 sand dement as this would be easier to form into a nice smooth edge? Great videos as always, I keep going to the various ones you have done as I am doing my own, I am originally from Cardiff, but a bit further away now or would have had you do mine

Hi Justin, im just about to lay some artificial grass for the first time. I'm planning on using 80mm (40mm to dust) 20mm ( granno) Do you think this build up will be free draining enough? Is there any other aggregates that would be better? Thanks 👍
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo Sounds ok but if the ground is very bad for drainage. A Soakaway or a land drain may be considered. Ive even added pea gravel under the sub base with a weed membrane seperating the gravel to the sub base. I hooe that helps you out. Justin 👍

@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping thanks Justin. The ground is holding water a bit, was thinking about adding a land drain under the sub base. Can i connect a land drain to the surface water drainage? Its a modern property with separate drains for foul and surface water.
@brickrightbuildinglandscaping

@joe fowler Joe just check the serface water isnt a soak away there youll connect to that which may run back into the part of the garden your trying to rectify.

@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping surface water drains are all running to manholes in the road. Definitely separate drains, all surface water gulleys go to one manhole and the foul drainage goes to another. I just wasn't sure if i was allowed to connect the land drain to surface water drainage.

@brickrightbuildinglandscaping 2 жыл бұрын
@joe fowler Joe if thats the case this is a very contentious area .Each area have different rulues on this and it depends who owns the drainage etc . If in doubt ask the local council but you maybe opening that can of worms .Or even phone your local water board to check your not breaking any rules its a difficult one with drains
