Installing carpet on stairs the right way.
if you want to know how to remove carpet easily from stairs check this out, as companies charge uptown a few hundred dollars to do it for you.
• Easy way to remove car...
every installer seems to think their way is the only way, I say do what works for you and always install as if you're installing in your own home, the guy that tought me has been doing this for over 35yrs and I have been doing this for the last 10yrs, we have never had a restretch, we also guarantee our work.

@andyedwards1575
@andyedwards1575 4 жыл бұрын
You fit the carpet to the stairs in one piece just using carpet grippers and No electric staples. Starting from the bottom fold 6”up against riser tack it at the fold along the riser at the floor. Then stretch the carpet up each step and using a stair tool(bolster) push the carpet into the gripper continue up the stairs towards the top. This way of fitting allows you to take up the stairs after a few years and using the 6” of carpet folded under the bottom riser shift the carpet up the stairs to allow the carpet on the riser(which has not been trodden on) to move up a bit onto the tread on avoid wearing on the stairs nosing

No where on the headline dose it say on your instaling "French cap" to these set of stairs. That would explain no gripper on the riser and only underlay cut just over the nose. It's a style of carpeting on very rarely seen due to time and expense. We only offer it if the customer wants stripes and full colour. You can put it how ever you want. Looks wicked when complete.

Fuck ya buddy great video. I have done several rooms myself but I was feeling a bit timid about doing the stairs. Watched the video a few times and went to work. They turned out good. We're putting the house up for sale but the carpet was old and an eye sore. Did 4 bedrooms the stairs and a living room for under 800 bucks. Bought a lot of tools and rented a few to. I usually don't do harbor freight but they saved me a bunch of money on stuff I won't use often.

B Kelly when there's a landing or a room with carpet above the stairs I finish the top riser when installing the landing or room. And when there is no lip for the the carpet to be stapled onto I add a strip to hook it to which holds the stretch. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps.

Just double checking, you put a carpet smooth on the front face of the rise on the top step only, is that correct? I'm refitting carpet on our stairs and the previous person added a smooth on the rise and the tread all the way down, (so each of our steps has two smooths, like your top step). Would you recommend ripping out the excess smooths or have you fitted carpet like that with smooths on the rise and tread?
@CunnerOutdoors
@CunnerOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
I only put it on the top because there was no nosing, if you are doing them waterfall then a strip on the riser is needed, but if you are doing them this way they're not needed and can be removed.
