HI. While teh ceiling speakers look large before they are installed they blend in very well once fitted and don't stick out. I didnt want to put something on the wall as we are looking for a very clean look, we don't have any radiators either as we have fitted under floor heating. I did look at some speakers that you fit inside the wall and plaster over, there are a few makes that do this including monitor audio but they are about £600 or more per speaker which is more than we wanted to spend. I would seriously consider them if I were installing a home cinema with all of the speakers that requires.

Hi Rob, I still have my 1908's Monitor Audio Studio 10 speakers with super solid steel stands. I got a £1k bonus (I was only earning £10k a year) and I blew it on the speakers. I thing they are still fab but I am told the amazing rosewood cabinets don't meet with the current home design. In the 3 main spaces I am installing 2 speakers per room, in smaller rooms I am still considering it I fit a single stereo or just a mono speaker. I don't find ceiling speakers give anything like a decent sound stage. We only really use them for radio and background music. During our project we have just used Alexa speakers which are good enough for that purpose. In the open plan room we will have a set of Meridian DSP speakers which we have bought used, Always wanted some of these but the new price made my eyes water.

Hi, Choosing ceiling speakers is really tricky as once you have cut that hole you are committed and can't experiment with placement or change them unless to an identical size. I used Kef previously and I was very impressed with them. As we are installing so many in our build cost was certainly a factor and I like and trust the Monitor Audio brand. I would certainly take a look at Smart Home sounds and if you can travel perhaps visit as it looks like they have a good demo room with a variety of speakers installed. I think Dali have a good reputation, I know someone with a home cinema setup by them. A high end Hi-Fi shop I went to was suggesting Origin Acoustics but I did not get a chance to listen to them.
