@@ratchetss Not really, because bc's ride height are adjusted via a bottom mount, the travel of the actual damper is not affected, so in theory the compression would be the same. Here is the ride height adjustment info from the BR series on bc's website: "Ride height adjustment Ride height is determined by the position of the coilover bottom mount. The mount can be wound up and down the damper body to give a full range of adjustment. Because ride height is determined by an adjustable bottom mount rather than spring platform you retain full damper travel regardless of the ride height run."

@@ratchetss agreed but he knows this. I showed him multiple times on the s15. As well as multiple people at the shop while there. Now if they listened to me or not is a different story lol. Most of them didn’t like me lol. Also “pre load” is not a thing with linear springs… Right height is controlled by spring position. Bump/droop ratio is controlled by the shock body mount and bump stop is controlled by using different length bump stops on the shock shafts. Setting up coil overs properly is actually a lengthy process especially when corner balancing a car.

@@TakeNoShift There are some decent videos out there but lots with mixed information or that leave particular steps out. Take a look at Feal suspension. They have a few articles that explain some key things. Then search things like “how to set bumps stops on coilovers” “how to balance a adjustable shock” or how to set proper droop with a coilover or shock. Then look at how to balance a car on scales with coilovers. All of these things should give you a general idea

12:50 A little tip. In order to easily free a ball joint, you're trying to release the 'taper' not the thread. Use two hammers to create a dead blow, a ball pein and a lump hammer. Ball pein hammer on arm, hit that with the lump, two or three good smacks & she'll drop free. Mechanic 20+ years. 👍

I think the gloves thing is more preference than anything. For me cloth gloves make the simplest task into Surgeon Simulator, plastic disposables get sweaty in seconds, rip in a minute and are bracelets in 10... I just went with really good soap and hot water. As for busting knuckles, you can avoid or mitigate that if you think about what you're doing.

I'm just at the beginning here, but wanted to add my little story of my engine swap to the jackstand alternatives. Blew up engine, got new engine. Only had space for the car in my friend's pole barn, and of course we only had two jackstands. Well, his dad is a builder and we found a bunch of 6"x6" wood blocks and cement blocks. Turns out, cement blocks are great for using as jack stands, until you have to work around them or even remove them. The wood however was really a good find and worked throughout the whole week.
