In this video I will show you how to install a Delta Multichoice faucet in 10 minutes! This is a beginners guide tutorial. Some may also say this is a how to install a delta shower valve video and that is true too! I will be using PEX pipe for the installation!

Thank you! Plumbers here are quoting 1800-2000 per shower valve. I did down to studs to save on a repipe but I feel like it’s more expensive! You are a life saver.

I moved into my new house 1 1/2 years ago this winter looking for a project while snowbound I started working on a basement build for a bedroom, living tv area, and a bathroom with delta shower 4 piece, vanity, and toilet. The area was already rough plumbed so made life easier. I’ve insulated with 2” Foamboard then 2x4 studs, built doorways, boxed in the egress window. I’ve added outlet boxes and have run wiring to each. If I’m ever stumped on any part of the job I immediately refer to KZfaq. I find my self going to your videos quite often based on how you teach each process. Thanks so much you have a real talent not only on the work you do but your ability to make the viewer able to do the job.

Dude, you have helped me so much because you don't over analyze things and you throw out the distances you use whether it be plumbing, electric, whatever.. There are so many videos that send the listener through so much analysis without committing, and it leaves me not wanting to do the project. Like here, you commit to the valve blocking flush to back of 2 studs which is just what I planned to do. You gave me the confirmation I needed. I'm using Delta like your example I think. I agree with Oakley below. I am an elementary school teacher. You teach like a pro. You never forget to explain the 'why' which is important, especially to people like me. Thanks for another great video and explanation of how you do install everything, Most of the valves I install are delta but I keep the delta valves with the integrated stops that way I don't have to shut the water down again after the tile gets installed, just to put the cartridge, and face plates on. I feel like Delta is the simplest and most universal ones to install. Have you noticed plumbing parts are cheaper on Amazon than they are at Lowe’s and Home Depot?

Well done. As a Professional we would solder pex adapters to the valve or use the Delta valve with pex connections amd solder a pex adapter on the riser. The only major leaks that have cost me money has been female adapters splitting. We just don't use them anymore due to the low alloy quality and potential of leak. If a homeowner does not.want to solder then use a 1/2" brass coupling amd use pex male adapters. Yes it will add $20 or so to the cost of the install but worth it .

Hey man, great video, clear & concise. One thing i noticed was the depth of the shower valve. I was under the impression the black mudshield needs to be flush with the finished wall. With 5/8" drywall, & 1/4" tile, that's almost 1" protrusion past the stud face. It's hard to tell from the video, but wouldn't the shower valve depth need to come foreward more?. Ty hope to hear back

Hey Josh! Great video yet again. My winter project is gonna be a bathroom install in my basement. I’m pretty comfortable with everything. The one thing I was wondering was the valve depth placement which you covered. Would that be a good depth for a tile shower as well or should it not be as deep? Not sure if I’m going tile or fiberglass yet.

Thank you So much! I hooked up the hot and cold and it worked well. I just have one question. Is it okay to have the hot and cold water on while the valve does not yet have the cartridge in just the test plug? Wouldn’t affect the water temperature to the rest of the home?

I will be soon installing a shower valve and I will be using for the 1st time Pex A with the Pex A fittings that are expansions fittings. I've never used these before and was wondering if the 1/2" female to pex adapters you used for your Pex B pipe are the same adapters for Pex A pipe, or are there Pex A fittings I need to get for this application. Also, do they make a fitting that gets soldered on rather than screwed on with tape and joint compound. I liked your video.

Great video. I noticed the pex adapter fitting has a pretty small internal diameter and with the elbow, are you getting enough water flow for a good shower? Can you get at least 10gpm at the top?

How you fix a really small leak at the brass coupling? I used only Teflon tape and after turning on the water, it takes about 20+ mins to build up a single bead of water?

Hi, if I already have a Delta shower faucet and shower head but am going to install a new shower head and trim kit, can I use the existing shower valve or would I have to change out the valve / cartridge because it's a new shower head and trim kit? I am totally unfamiliar with this stuff!

Whenever I can I eliminate extra fittings. It looks like the cold water side had room to bend without crimping. Smooth turns save money and give better flow. Nice vid thanks for all your uploads! ✌🏻🇺🇸

When you bend the pipes you end up with leaks on the crimped connections.

@@F.J._Claes that’s why I said bend without crimping. Smooth bends allow better flow and help eliminate fittings. Which restrict flow.

@@tallpaul8880 What GTR is saying is if you bend the pipe the way you are suggesting , it will put pressure on the part where the PEX connects the VALVE. Thus causing a leak. In most scenarios the installation will have to be done like in the video. And if you are crimping correctly you should have no leaks.

you can use bend guides or 3/4 PVC conduit to eliminate tension from curved pipe, trading that cost vs elbow

Great video. Can I ask you about the valve body/rough position behind the finished wall: tile thickness, backer board and thin set thickness varies a bit from one installation to the next (+/- 1/4"). Would the trim kit support different thicknesses or does the position of the body need to adjusted to be a specific distance from the finished wall?

The values you provide for depth of set back for shower valve, shower head, height for placement of shower valve (42-inches), shower head 79- inches) are these values specific for this specific shower valve or are they universal for all shower values? One valve kit I was looking at the valve placement was 48 inches and shower head 30-inches above shower valve? Is there a maximum height above shower for placing shower head? TY😊

Are you using 2x6 studs on either side of where you’re placing the valve? I’ve got 2x4’s. How do I mount it flush with the back of the 2x4 like you described at 4:02-4:07?

You said on the go/no go tool that the go should slip over the rings and the no go should not slip over. A little confused because if the tool slip all the way over that means the crimp is too tight. The tool should slip half way over indicating a good crimp. No?

Is there ever an application where you would set the shower body block more forward or backward? My concern is for varying thickness of cement board and tile only to realize when installing the trim plate that the shower body is too short or long. Thank you

Always refer to rough in specs for valve depths.cause they vary and most valves you can't get extension kit.

I'm curious as to why the pipe size is reduced to 1/2 inch from the 3/4 inch trunk or main water line in the house??? Wouldn't using 3/4 pipe to the shower head give you more water volume and pressure, making a shower experience better?
