Hello Friends,
Here is a new episode about, How to install dlib library successfully on windows machine.
I have replicated the issue of CMAKE error and then shown how to solve this cmake error in this episode.

CMAKE error details :

CMake Error in CMakeLists.txt:
The CMAKE_C_COMPILER:
cl
is not a full path and was not found in the PATH.
To use the NMake generator with Visual C++, cmake must be run from a shell
that can use the compiler cl from the command line. This environment is
unable to invoke the cl compiler. To fix this problem, run cmake from the
Visual Studio Command Prompt (vcvarsall.bat).
Tell CMake where to find the compiler by setting either the environment
variable "CC" or the CMake cache entry CMAKE_C_COMPILER to the full path to
the compiler, or to the compiler name if it is in the PATH.

while installing dlib by cmd(pip install dlib), i used each tip and other mothods like pip install (ink) , etc but I'm facin same issue. the issue is wheel project is not installed and pyproject.toml is not installed . Kindly tell me

Sir I use 3.6.6 and it shows --> dlib-19.19.0-cp37-cp37m-win_amd64.whl is not a supported wheel on this platform.

You need to use python 3.6 compatible dlib whl file. Or you can upgrade your python to 3.7 and use the same whl file

you are tying to use python 3.6 version .whl binary file for python 3.9 version on your local system.

my dlib gets installed but i get error on what ever dlib function i use, like get_frontal_face_detector for example.....what would be the cause?

Binary link for 3.6+ version is not available at pypi.org/simple/dlib/ . if its urgent then degrade python version to 3.6 and install the dlib.

Provided link has DLIB supporting binaries till python version 3.6 only. Will check back the binary links for 3.8 and will get back to you !

I never installed on windows 7 so am not sure on it. But my wild guess is it should work. You can follow the guidelines from below link and try to install on windows 7 www.learnopencv.com/install-dlib-on-windows/

@@MayankSingh-bo3xo Binary link for 3.6+ version is not available at pypi.org/simple/dlib/ . please degrade python version to 3.6 and install the dlib.
